Job Description:

This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining AI-powered applications and automation solutions that drive business value across the enterprise. This role combines application development expertise with data engineering and artificial intelligence capabilities to build intelligent systems that enhance operational efficiency and enable data-driven decision-making. The selected candidate will work closely with software application development, data engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and business-relevant solutions.

Essential Functions:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain AI-powered applications and automation solutions using modern development frameworks and cloud platforms
  • Work within Palantir Foundry (or similar platforms) to build data-driven applications and analytical workflows
  • Support end-to-end software development activities, including requirements analysis, architecture, coding, integration, testing, and deployment
  • Build and integrate LLM-based applications leveraging generative AI technologies for business use cases
  • Develop agentic AI systems that can autonomously perform tasks, make decisions, and interact with multiple tools and APIs
  • Create and maintain data pipelines for AI model integration, feature engineering, and real-time inference
  • Implement AI solutions for classification, prediction, natural language processing, and computer vision applications
  • Build automation workflows that integrate AI capabilities with existing enterprise systems and business processes
  • Develop APIs, microservices, and supporting components to expose AI functionality to downstream applications and users
  • Perform model evaluation, validation, and performance analysis using appropriate technical metrics
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of AI workloads
  • Ensure compliance with software development standards, cybersecurity requirements, data protection policies, and responsible AI practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and technical needs into effective solutions
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies and frameworks to maintain competitive advantage
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, user guides, and test results
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production AI systems, implementing monitoring and alerting solutions
  • Support lifecycle sustainment of deployed capabilities including defect resolution and performance improvements
  • Participate in agile development processes including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and technical reviews
  • Contribute to the development of reusable AI components and internal libraries
  • Contribute technical solutions within established architectures and development processes
  • Identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Stay current with the rapidly evolving AI landscape and share knowledge with the broader team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Strong programming skills and experience with at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience working with LLMs and generative AI APIs
  • Demonstrated experience building and deploying applications that integrate AI capabilities
  • Experience with software integration, REST APIs, and service-based architectures
  • Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using pandas, SQL, and data warehousing concepts
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), automated builds, testing processes, and modern development workflows
  • Experience with Palantir Foundry platform for building data applications and workflows
  • Knowledge of agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGPT, CrewAI, etc.)
  • Experience with vector databases and RAG architecture
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering techniques and LLM fine-tuning approaches
  • Front-end development skills (React, Vue, or similar) for building AI application interfaces

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $79,000-$146,500. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $69,000-$128,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
