Job description

MANTECH seeks a mission-focused and detail-driven Staff Cyber Security Analyst to join our team in Springfield, VA.
 

The Staff Cyber Security Analyst will support critical cybersecurity operations by monitoring and analyzing activity across systems to identify and respond to threats. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is passionate about protecting digital infrastructure.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing detection, identification, and reporting of possible cyber-attacks, intrusions, anomalous activities, and misuse activities
  • Characterizing and performing analysis of network traffic and system data to identify anomalous activity and potential threats to resources
  • Performing security event and incident correlation using information gathered from a variety of sources within the enterprise
  • Executing cyber incident triage to include determining scope, urgency, and potential impact; identifying the specific vulnerability and making recommendations for expeditious remediation
  • Tracking and documenting cyber incidents from initial detection through final resolution
  • Analyzing and assessing damage to the data and infrastructure as a result of cyber incidents
  • Performing cyber incident trend analysis and reporting
  • Operating in a 24x7 Shift Work environment with a 4/10 shift schedule

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of additional IT experience in lieu of degree
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity operations
  • Must possess IAT Level II certification such as GSEC, Security+, SSCP, or CCNA-Security
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Experience with network documentation including security compliance and patching
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC) environments and COTS technologies
  • Knowledge of current COTS Cybersecurity technologies and database security
  • Knowledge of current security principles, techniques, and protocols

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP certification)

Clearance Requirements:

  • An active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets and office machinery.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
