Job description

Position Title: AI & Cybersecurity Intern

Reports to: Director of Information Systems & Technology

Location: Hybrid (fully remote or in-person optional), preference to DC.

Duration: Start Mid August or Early September - November 2026

Hours: Part Time (10 hours per week)

Compensation: $19/hour

J Street is the political home for pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans working for the future of Israel as the democratic homeland of the Jewish people. The organization believes that preserving Israel's Jewish and democratic character depends on achieving a two-state solution, resulting in a Palestinian state living alongside Israel in peace and security.


J Street focuses its work in three main areas: (1) Advocating and demonstrating support for pro-Israel, pro-peace policies in Congress, the media and the Jewish community; (2) Endorsing and raising money for federal candidates who share J Street's agenda; and (3) Educating the public and raising awareness of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the two-state solution.


The Position

J Street is seeking an undergraduate student to join an amazing internship experience. This internship is an excellent opportunity to be involved with J Street's work in Washington, DC and around the country, work closely with J Street staff and gain valuable work experience with the leading CRM in the world.


The Technology & Database Intern will assist the Director of Information System & Technology with maintaining our various Salesforce CRM platform & IT Operations. Primary responsibilities may include but are not limited to:


Salesforce & Data/IT Support

  • Assist with data cleanup and organization in Salesforce and related systems, including deduplication, basic record updates, and field standardization.
  • Support data quality and documentation efforts by helping track how fields are used and flagging inconsistencies or gaps.
  • Help with routine system maintenance tasks that improve accuracy, usability, and reporting.
  • Become the go-to problem solver for IT issues, troubleshooting software and hardware challenges, including laptops, printers, and networking equipment.

AI & Automation Exposure

  • Support early-stage AI and automation initiatives, including helping test simple AI tools or agents (e.g., first-draft content generation or internal knowledge lookup) under the guidance of IT staff.
  • Assist in creating basic AI resources and documentation for staff, focused on responsible use, productivity, and understanding limitations.
  • Help research or summarize AI tools and use cases relevant to nonprofit operations and communications.

Cybersecurity & Phishing Awareness

  • Assist with cybersecurity and phishing-prevention efforts, such as helping maintain or evaluate phishing simulation tools, analyzing basic results, and supporting improvements to staff security awareness programs.
  • Help develop simple training materials or reference guides related to phishing prevention, password safety, and secure technology use.
  • Support ongoing efforts to strengthen organizational security practices through documentation and staff education.

Compensation and Time Commitment:

This is a paid part-time internship. We can also work with you to receive school credit or work with you if you are able to receive payment through your university.
