Our manufacturing and distribution company operates five manufacturing plants, four distribution warehouses, and multiple sales offices. As a Junior Cybersecurity Administrator, you will provide entry-level to intermediate cybersecurity administration and operational support for TM Cobb and Haley Bros’ critical business systems. You will work under the guidance of senior cybersecurity and IT leadership to help protect company systems, users, and data by implementing and maintaining security tools, monitoring threats, and supporting compliance initiatives aligned with CIS v8 security controls.

This role is hands-on and developmental, offering the opportunity to build expertise across endpoint security, email security, vulnerability management, and cloud security platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in the administration and daily operation of cybersecurity platforms including:
  • Rapid7 (InsightVM, InsightIDR or equivalent)
  • CrowdStrike Falcon (endpoint protection and EDR)
  • Proofpoint Essentials (email security and threat protection)
  • Microsoft 365 Defender (endpoint, identity, and cloud security)
  • Perform routine vulnerability scans and assist with remediation tracking under senior guidance.
  • Monitor security alerts, logs, and dashboards; escalate potential threats or incidents appropriately.
  • Assist in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and documentation.
  • Support implementation and enforcement of cybersecurity policies and procedures aligned with CIS v8 framework.
  • Help manage endpoint security posture, including antivirus/EDR health, patching status, and compliance.
  • Assist with email security administration, including phishing analysis, spam filtering, and user reporting.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of security processes, incidents, and remediation activities.
  • Participate in user security awareness efforts, including phishing simulations and training support.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure systems and networks are configured securely.
  • Assist in onboarding/offboarding processes related to user access and identity security.
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, and reporting activities as needed.
  • Participate in IT and cybersecurity projects (deployments, upgrades, tool enhancements).
Education
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Certifications (Required / Preferred)
  • CompTIA Security+ (required or within 12 months of hire)
  • Microsoft Security Fundamentals (SC-900) preferred
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or similar (optional, entry-level exposure acceptable)
Technical Skills & QualificationsExperience
  • 0–2 years of IT or cybersecurity experience (internships or lab experience acceptable)
  • Exposure to cybersecurity tools or platforms (academic or professional)
Core Technical Skills
  • Basic understanding of:
