We offer competitive benefits, an alternative 4/10 work schedule, and the opportunity to work with a talented and diverse group of professionals.  The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for ensuring delivered information systems meet security standards in accordance with applicable DoW policies including DoWI 8510.01, Risk Management Framework (RMF) for Department of Defense Information Technology (IT).

Essential Functions:

  • Experience in Cybersecurity Engineering, and working collectively with a project team of System Engineers and Software Engineers with the analysis of requirements and constraints for the design of secure physical, technical, and administrative implementations.

  • Actively participate in design development and reviews, providing input with an emphasis on integrating cybersecurity measures into the overarching system design.

  • Develops all applicable documents needed to obtain an Authorization to Operate (ATO) for fielded systems.

  • Identifies the information protection needs for systems and networks.

  • Manage schedule and budgets for project level tasking.

  • Interacts with customers and authorization officials to define and achieve required Cybersecurity objectives.

  • Maintain awareness of the most recent system security policies and directives.

  • Maintains compliance with training and ethical standards.

  • Asks questions and seeks clarification on unfamiliar and/or unclear concepts, designs, and implementation detail.

  • Generation of functional block diagrams, use-case diagrams, cabling diagrams.

  • Candidate must be willing to work a flexible job schedule to include off-shift work and occasional overtime.

  • Business travel up to 10% annually.

Qualifications:

  • Active Secret security clearance.

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

  • Current Cybersecurity Certifications required to qualify as DoW Cybersecurity Workforce.

  • Experience with Cybersecurity Vulnerability Assessment tools.

  • 4 Years of experience in Security Engineering with accreditation experience required.

  • 3 Years of experience needed analyzing system specifications and translating to Cybersecurity requirements.

  • 1 year of experience in Risk Management Framework (RMF) is required. 

  • 1year of experience with secure configuration of Linux and Windows based operating systems.

  • 1 year Experience with network switches, routers and firewalls.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Current Security+ certification, CISSP a plus

  • Experience with systems integration is desired.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $92.000.00 MIN - $171,000.00 MAX. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $80,500.00 Min - $149,500.00 Max. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
