Job description

Role: Senior OKTA Engineer

Location: Remote

Duration: 6+ month

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IAM Engineer to support and maintain our identity and access management platforms. The role focuses on Okta administration and support, ensuring secure access, compliance, and smooth user experience across the organization.

Project Highlight

  • Bought Okta in 2025 will role to majority of the company
  • Okta api config provisioning General daily work, provisioning/decommissioning
  • Some scripting - JavaScript or PowerShell would be helpful
  • Some AD is nice
  • Prefers okta admin certification
  • SailPoint to have that is really good
  • Contract -to-hire
  • Roll out will kick off next phase end of next week will start this OKTA project will go for a year

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM), with 5+ years of hands-on Okta administration and engineering experience
  • Strong expertise in Okta Workforce Identity, including:
  • Single Sign-On (SSO)
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
  • Lifecycle Management (LCM)
  • Universal Directory (UD)
  • In-depth knowledge of authentication and authorization protocols:
  • SAML 2.0
  • OAuth 2.0
  • OpenID Connect (OIDC)
  • SCIM
  • Experience designing and implementing secure authentication flows for cloud, SaaS, and on-prem applications
  • Expertise with Okta Workflows, inline hooks, event hooks, custom expressions, and API-based automations
  • Proven experience with Okta integrations for enterprise applications (e.g., Microsoft 365, AWS, Salesforce, ServiceNow)
  • Lead Incident Root cause Analysis processes and able to clearly define proposed enhancements to prevent future issues
  • Strong understanding of identity governance concepts including provisioning, de-provisioning, RBAC, and least-privilege access
  • Hands-on experience with Okta APIs and SDKs for automation and custom integrations
  • Strong experience with audit preparation, evidence collection, and identity control validation
  • Ability to monitor Okta System Logs and integrate with SIEM for ITDR alerting and detection
  • Experience designing least-privilege admin roles and governance for Okta API token usage
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript
  • Experience with directory services (Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for authentication, federation, and provisioning issues
  • Experience supporting high-availability, production IAM environments
  • Assist with Security and compliance reviews
  • VPN and RADIUS integrations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Okta certifications (Okta Certified Administrator or Consultant)
  • Experience with Workforce & Partner Identity implementations
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust security models
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code or automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD)
  • Knowledge of compliance and security frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, NIST)
  • Experience working in hybrid or multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
