Overview
Planned Systems International (PSI) is an Enterprise IT services company who focuses on designing, building, securing, and operating cutting-edge software solutions that drive mission success and operational excellence for Federal Government organizations. PSI supports the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), Command & Control (C2) Mission Systems (C2MS) task order focused on delivery excellence, cost/schedule fidelity, and mission outcomes. The C2MS program provides mission critical operational capability to SOF stakeholders by supporting distributed command and control, system health monitoring, infrastructure configuration, and integrated mission operations.
We are currently seeking a transitioning Service Member (all branches/ranks welcome) to join as a SkillBridge intern to support RF, data links, and communications engineering functions that enable system connectivity and operational readiness across the C2MS enterprise.
  • Position Type: DoD SkillBridge (Fellowship/Internship) - Fulltime, Temporary (Unpaid per DoD policy)
  • Duration: 90-180 days (preferred 120-180 days; target dates flexible based on command approval and candidate availability)
  • Location: Cannon AFB, Clovis, NM

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities
  • RF & Data Link Support:
    • Supporting RF path analysis, link budget assessments, and signal verification.
    • Monitoring, testing, and troubleshooting tactical data link connectivity.
    • Assisting with SATCOM configuration and signal optimization.
    • Supporting EM spectrum analysis and equipment configuration.
  • C2MS Engineering / Operations Support:
    • Assisting with system integration, configuration, and functional testing.
    • Reviewing technical documentation, diagrams, and interface specifications.
    • Tracking system anomalies and supporting root-cause analysis.
    • Supporting lab testing, workflow validation, and mission rehearsal setups.
  • Program & Mission Support:
    • Preparing engineering artifacts, reports, diagrams, and updates.
    • Supporting program-level readiness, compliance, and technical reviews.
    • Engaging with cross-functional Air Force and contractor teams.

Minimum Requirements
  • Eligibility:Currently serving U.S. Service Member eligible for DoD SkillBridge (command approval required).
  • Experience:
    • Background in RF, satellite communications, data links, or comm/nav systems.
    • Familiarity with Air Force C2 concepts and mission environments.
    • Basic understanding of IP networks and system troubleshooting.
    • Strong communication and documentation skills.
    • Ability to work in a technical team environment.
    • CompTIA Security+ or other DoD 8570 certifications.
  • Clearance: Active T3 investigation, with the ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances as required for access to classified information.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Link 16, SADL, or other tactical data links.
  • Experience in cyber transport, RF transmission systems, or avionics comms.
  • Experience with spectrum analysis tools (e.g., Anritsu, Keysight, Tektronix).
  • Exposure to systems engineering processes or configuration management.
  • Experience as a CRO and/or with COMSEC.

    • The RF/DL SkillBridge Intern will work directly with the C2MS engineering and operations teams to support RF communications, tactical data links, and system integration activities. This role is ideal for transitioning servicemembers with experience or interest in:

      • SATCOM fundamentals
      • Network troubleshooting
      • Air Force C2 systems
      • Systems engineering or cyber communications

      This position provides hands-on technical work, exposure to enterprise-level C2 operations, and opportunities to engage with Air Force stakeholders and industry engineers.

    • This is an unpaid DoD SkillBridge opportunity for qualifying transitioning Service Members.
    • Participants remain on active-duty orders and continue to receive military pay/benefits from their Service during the fellowship.
