Job Description
The Cybersecurity Engineer plays a critical role in safeguarding the organization's digital assets, systems, and data from potential cyber threats and attacks. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing robust cybersecurity solutions that ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information while minimizing risks and vulnerabilities. The Cybersecurity Engineer also collaborates with cross-functional teams and stays updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies.
Zurn Elkay Water Solutions is seeking a strong technical engineer with the ability to execute both short-term actions / incidents and long-term projects to expand and advance our cybersecurity program. This is a unique opportunity to engage in and directly contribute to each of the layers and components of our strong cybersecurity program. The right candidate for this role must have a passion for safeguarding critical assets and systems, and is one who wants to use, shape, and broaden their influences and experiences across the current and new layers of cybersecurity solutions, protections, and practices.
Key Accountabilities
Cybersecurity Architecture and Design
  • Design, review, and recommend security solutions and measures to protect the organization's IT infrastructure, networks, and systems.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Co-collaborate with architecture and development teams to ensure security is integrated into stages of the software development lifecycle to protect the intellectual property contained.

Security Solutions Implementation, Monitoring, and Analysis
  • Configure, deploy, and manage security tools such as intrusion detection/prevention systems, anti-malware solutions, and endpoint security platforms.
  • Implement data security measures, including Microsoft Defender, EDR platforms, and MDR enhancements
  • Monitor security logs and alerts from various sources to detect and respond to potential security incidents.
  • Review, tune, and optimize security alerts to reduce false positives while maintaining effective threat detection and response coverage.
  • Analyze security data to identify patterns, trends, and potential security risks.

Incident Response and Management
  • Participate in incident response activities, including identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security incidents (minor or major) and breaches.
  • Plan, lead, and document cybersecurity tabletop exercises simulating real-world threat scenarios to validate incident response procedures and decision-making.

Compliance and Auditing
  • Contribute to and / or lead compliance and internal / external audit programs, e.g., defining / implementing an enhanced third-party application and partner risk program.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
  • Participate in security audits and assessments, providing necessary documentation and evidence.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, IT Engineering, or Computer Science and/or relevant work experience
  • 3-5 + years of experience in cybersecurity role(s), with a focus on engineering, architecture, and incident management. Strong knowledge and experience deploying cybersecurity principles, best practices, technologies, and standards.
  • Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus, endpoint security, and vulnerability scanners.
  • "Hands on" technical experience along with strong problem-solving and analytics skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Security Tools (Defender, Purview, etc) a plus.
