Position Description
The Cyber Security Analyst, reporting to the Director of Technical Services, is responsible for providing support for cyber security related issues and systems. The position will establish new cyber security protocols and policies. The position will also support and maintain existing security software. The mission of the Cyber Security Analyst is to ensure the security and integrity of EU's information and systems.
Position Responsibilities
The tasks and responsibilities of the Cyber Security Analyst include, but are not limited to:
  • Identifying privacy and security concerns.
  • Providing technical support for security MDR/EDR suites.
  • Leading the development and execution of security programs and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with all security policies and procedures.
  • Participating in threat hunting and threat detection.
  • Participating in fraud detection and mitigation
  • Analyzing malicious behavior.
  • Developing and communicating technical security reports.
  • Advising management of security risks.

Specific Experience in:
  • Monitoring and implementing antivirus/security software.
  • Creating security policies and procedures.
  • Assessing existing systems for security issues and risks.
  • Creating incident reports as necessary.
  • Assessing any security breaches and identifying vulnerabilities.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree or 6+ years of demonstrated experience in enterprise cyber security work is required.
  • Blue Team Level 1 certification is also required.
  • Experience in higher education is strongly preferred.
  • This individual is dedicated and committed with strong analytical skills.
  • An individual who has a clear understanding of the critical role cybersecurity plays.
  • The ability to balance a complex set of priorities and issues is critical.
  • Prior technical work experience supporting risk management, security services, and oversight of enterprise MDR/EDR is strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively with other teams are essential.

Adjunct faculty may be eligible for medical coverage under the ACA after an annual one year lookback review.
Part-time staff who are scheduled to work less than 30 hours per week schedule are eligible for employer contribution towards the retirement plan after one year of employment. Eligibility rules apply. Adjunct faculty may make employee deferral contributions towards the retirement plan.
Part-Time Graduate Assistant Coaches are eligible for participation in the Tuition Remission Coaches Program.
Temporary, Contractors and Seasonal Employees: Individuals in this status are scheduled on an as-needed-basis and are not eligible for participation in the University's benefits programs.
