Description
We are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support the security architecture, compliance, and operational security posture of a next-generation DevSecOps, cloud, and AI-enabled platform environment supporting Department of Defense programs in Huntsville, AL. This role focuses on cybersecurity engineering, system hardening, secure deployment of AI capabilities, compliance automation, and platform security architecture across both classified and unclassified environments.
  • Design, implement, and manage secure architectures for DevSecOps platforms, including both classified and unclassified environments. Ensure hardened configurations for cloud, on-premise systems, and container platforms while applying DISA STIGs and secure network architectures.
  • Secure CI/CD pipelines by implementing security controls, software supply chain protections, Policy-as-Code practices, and compliance automation. Partner with DevOps engineers to enhance development workflows with secure, AI-enabled tooling.
  • Securely integrate and authorize emerging technologies, including Generative AI platforms, AI-enabled development tools, and CLI-based systems within hybrid and mission-critical environments.
  • Align systems with DoD cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, NIST 800-53, CMMC) and develop ATO packages, SSPs, POA&Ms, and evidence for security control implementation. Support automated compliance validation and continuous authorization readiness.
  • Manage vulnerability scanning programs using ACAS/Nessus, container scanning, and SBOM tools. Coordinate remediation strategies, analyze findings, and support security monitoring and incident response efforts.
  • Secure DevSecOps capabilities within classified and restricted environments, ensuring consistent architecture, cross-domain security, and authorized artifact movement between air-gapped systems.
  • Maintain robust security controls, accreditation readiness, and operational assurance for DevSecOps platforms, cloud infrastructures, and AI-enabled development systems across mission-critical programs.

Qualifications
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree and 5 years' experience in cybersecurity engineering, cloud security, or platform security; Additional 6 years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle).

Clearance Requirements:
  • Must possess an active Interim Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; ship required.

Required Skills:
  • Strong working knowledge of DevSecOps environments and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience securing cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Experience implementing DISA STIGs and system hardening.
  • Experience with vulnerability management and remediation workflows.
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity frameworks including RMF and NIST 800-53.
  • Strong Linux and/or Windows system security background.
  • Ability to support classified systems and environments.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience supporting DevSecOps platforms in DoD environments.
  • Experience with AWS GovCloud or Azure Government.
  • Experience with container security (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience implementing Policy-as-Code or compliance automation.
