Cybersecurity Architect

The Opportunity:

Everyone knows security needs to be "baked in" to system architecture, but you actually know how to bake it in. You can identify and implement ways to harden systems and reduce their attack surface.

As a Cybersecurity Architect on our project, you'll lead the architecture and design efforts of innovative cybersecurity solutions and service offerings to protect federal networks. You'll coordinate with a dynamic team of thought leaders and experts to identify the right mix of tools and techniques to translate your customer's IT needs and future goals into a plan that will enable secure and effective solutions.

You'll lead the team through a critical approach to network and systems design, providing alternatives and customizing solutions to maintain a balance of security and mission needs. This is a chance to make a difference in the security of the government. Your technical expertise will be vital as you help customers overcome their most difficult challenges by leading cybersecurity technologies and domains, including IoT and Cloud security, Automation and Orchestration (A&O), identity and access management, and machine learning.

You Have:

  • 8+ years of experience with cybersecurity

  • 5+ years of experience leading technical project delivery for large, complex organizations

  • 5+ years of experience in network architecture and design

  • Experience architecting Zero Trust solutions, road maps, and capabilities in alignment with industry standards, including NIST 800-207 and DoD Zero Trust Reference Architecture

  • Experience leading product selection initiatives, including perimeter defense, zero trust, A&O, AI, analytics, secure DevOps, identity and access management, or network access control

  • Ability to work with and guide senior leaders, including CISO, CIO, and CTO, and executives to ideate, build, and execute cybersecurity capability maturation

  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam

  • Associate's degree and 10+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities, Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities, Master's degree and 6+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities, or 12+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities in lieu of a degree

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level III and IASAE Level II Certification such as SecurityX or CISSP Certification

  • Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 Cybersecurity Service Provider - Infrastructure Support Certification (CSSP-IS), including CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND Certification, within 30 days of start date

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience in a cybersecurity compliance, operations, or engineering leadership role

  • Experience with selecting, designing, and implementing security tools and capabilities for large, complex federal or commercial organizations

  • Experience with innovative cybersecurity capabilities, including A&O, AI and machine learning, NGFW, and Big Data

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP

  • Ability to collaborate with project and proposal teams effectively to incorporate cybersecurity solutions and develop high-quality implementation plans and roadmaps

  • Ability to author technical documentation and white papers and blogs on leading cybersecurity topics and concepts

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
