Job description

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior Cyber Security / DevOps Systems Engineer to engineer, automate, secure, and optimize full-stack enterprise solutions supporting mission-critical operations. This role is responsible for orchestrating containerized applications, developing CI/CD pipelines, implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions, integrating new software and hardware technologies, and enhancing cybersecurity posture across on-premises environments. The position will support system modernization efforts through automated testing, software quality assurance, proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement aligned with current industry standards and best practices. This position will be located in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and will be an on-site position
Responsibilities
Correlates threat data from various sources to establish the identity and modus operandi of hackers active in the client's networks and posing a potential threat. Provides the customer with assessments and reports, facilitating situational awareness and understanding of current cyber threats and adversaries. Develops cyber threat profiles based on geographic region, country, group, or individual actors. Produces cyber threat assessments based on entity threat analysis. May provide computer forensic and intrusion support to high technology investigations in the form of computer evidence seizure, computer forensic analysis, data recovery, and network assessments. Researches and maintains proficiency in tools, techniques, countermeasures, and trends in computer network vulnerabilities, data hiding, and network security and encryption.
  • Engineer and orchestrate containerized applications, CI/CD solutions, and monitoring for full-stack automation: Engineer solutions using current industry standards for infrastructure as code and automated software quality assurance.
  • Integrate newly procured software and hardware: Seamlessly incorporate new tools and technologies into existing environments.
  • Assess and advise on cybersecurity measures: Evaluate and recommend security enhancements for software and hardware platforms.
  • Implement cybersecurity measures: Deploy security controls to protect systems and data.
  • Test and evaluate cyberspace systems: Establish processes for thorough testing and assessment.
  • Resolve technical issues: Troubleshoot and correct complex problems related to on-premises systems
  • Update, configure, and manage system components: Optimize existing customer solutions.
  • Stay informed: Keep up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and standards.

Qualifications
High School with 9+ years (or commensurate experience)
Required Skills and Experience
  • Clearance Required: TS/SCI
  • Demonstrated expertise in DEVOPS/SYSTEMS Engineering or a related field
  • Familiarity with Industry DEVOPS Technology Stacks: Experience with On-Premise GitLab and Offline Registry Management, Rancher and K8s Cluster Administration, and IaC with Terraform and Ansible
  • DEVOPS Cybersecurity management and operations: Knowledge of DEVOPS cybersecurity practices, risk management, and operational security
  • Secure Python coding and development: Proficient in secure Python programming for automation and scripting
    Git/Github continuous integration and continuous delivery: Experience with version control, automated builds, and deployment pipelines
  • Linux administration experience with preference for Debian family: Proficiency in Linux system administration, with a preference for Debian-based distributions
  • Understanding of Networking Principles: Familiarity with networking fundamentals
  • Software integration into air-gapped environments: Experience in application integration into isolated network environments
  • API Integration: Understanding of how to design, build, and integrate APIs into workflows
  • In-Depth Troubleshooting Expertise: Experience in quickly identifying technical issues and troubleshooting complex issues to enable expeditious resolution
