About This Role
We believe people should love what they do - in this role, you will be responsible for:
Structural and Welding Inspection and defect identification through VT, PT and MT methods to determine adherence to standards, specifications, and drawing requirements. Experience in Visual, Dye Penetrant, and Magnetic Particle inspections across all three methods is preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Approach assignments with a high ethical resolve, ensuring reputable standing with our onsite customers.
  • Ability to implement NDT inspection methods in accordance with written procedures.
  • Visual examinations by means of instruments, gauges, jigs, templates, or other measuring devices to include nondestructive test methods to ensure adherence to standards, specifications, drawing, etc.
  • Conduct weld inspections using but not limited to VT, PT, and MT methods.
  • Conduct coating inspections in accordance with written procedures.
  • Generates Quality reports, completes Inspection Check Lists, nonconformance documents, calibration reports, and other Quality documents/records as applicable to the specific area assigned.
  • Adheres to all safety requirements, departmental instructions and TMLS Policies and Procedures.
  • Performs any and all other duties assigned by management.
  • Willingness to work an off shift if needed.

Education:
  • High School or equivalent education required
  • Technical/vocational training preferred
  • Must currently the following certifications: Level II ASNT in Visual Testing, Dye Penetrant Testing, and Magnetic Particle Testing (VT, PT, and MT).
  • Must hold a current AMPP CIP Level 2 certification or an AWS CWI certification or have 3 years of UT flaw experience.

Position Requirements:
  • Must hold the following certifications: Level II ASNT in VT, PT, and MT (an AWS CWI certification is preferred and accepted as an alternative to VT Level II).
  • Must hold a current AMPP CIP Level 2 certification or an AWS CWI certification or have 3 years of UT flaw experience.
  • Must pass the required Eye exams for the NDT methods performed, as applicable.
  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMAND REQUIREMENTS:
Physical demands described have been validated by on-site job analysis. The following information is a synopsis of key physical demand requirements determined from a detailed job analysis:
Postural: Must have the ability to move extremities and spine throughout a sufficient range of motion that will permit the employee to work in a variety of postures involving a range from floor to overhead level. Flexing and twisting of the trunk and other awkward postures are occasionally required.
Dexterity : Must have a good dexterity and frequently use one and two hands throughout the work period for tasks involving fingering, gripping and manipulation.
Cardiorespiratory Demand : Must have sufficient cardiorespiratory fitness to be able to perform medium work involving heavy lifting. Must be able to safely tolerate medium demands on the cardiorespiratory system in various temperature ranges and humidity.
General Physical Activities : Include standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, body twisting, sense of touch, manual dexterity, speaking clearly, seeing distant/reading, reaching, hearing, depth perception, color vision, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs and balancing.
Physical Demand Level - Medium : Must be able to perform medium physical labor as classified by the United States Department of Labor. Physical demands typically involve lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling not to exceed 60 lbs.
