Job description

Are you a detail-oriented inspector who takes pride in your work? At Christian Wheeler Engineering (CWE), you can help build San Diego and the surrounding communities. From residential and critical infrastructure projects to major commercial developments and world-class entertainment venues, your expertise will ensure that the region's structures are built to last.

Why CWE?

We are a family-oriented firm that treats our team like people, not numbers. We believe your professional growth is a strategic investment, which is why we offer reimbursement for certifications, renewals, and exam fees.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Observe reinforced concrete, masonry, and structural steel work in progress to ensure the work conforms with the relevant requirements
  • Build strong relationships with on-site superintendents/foremen and subs, acting as a collaborative partner to solve challenges
  • Document the work observed to provide the clear, professional reporting our clients rely on

What You Bring to the Team

  • Credentials: You hold a current ICC Reinforced Concrete certification and are registered with the City of San Diego (bonus points for ICC post-tension and/or structural masonry).
  • Skills: You can read a blueprint like a map, communicate clearly, and handle basic tech (Email/MS Word) with ease.
  • Drive: You have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and a positive approach to problem-solving.

The Rewards

We support a healthy, balanced life by providing big company benefits with a small firm feel:

  • Financial Security: Competitive pay, 401(k) with company contribution and profit-sharing potential, and company-paid life and long-term disability insurance.
  • Health & Wellness: Choice of medical and dental plans, vision plan, employee assistance program, flexible spending account, dependent care reimbursement account, and health savings account (HSA) with company match.
  • Time to Recharge: Paid holidays and a generous PTO policy.

Christian Wheeler Engineering is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are committed to a work environment where your qualifications and work ethic are what matter.
