Customs Import Coordinator – Miami, FL


A leading global organization in the travel retail and logistics industry is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Customs Import Coordinator to join its Miami team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong import/export experience who thrives in a fast-paced international environment and enjoys working cross-functionally with vendors, carriers, customs agencies, and warehouse operations.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and experienced in U.S. Customs regulations, FTZ operations, and import documentation processes.


Key Responsibilities


  • Oversee and track incoming international shipments from multiple vendors and suppliers
  • Coordinate with shipping lines, airlines, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to obtain required arrival documentation
  • Classify shipments using U.S. Customs Tariff codes
  • Process FTZ admission entries (CF214) and submit documentation through ACE
  • Monitor cargo releases and coordinate warehouse deliveries and pickups
  • Prepare duty-paid entries for bonded merchandise, shortages, damages, testers, and promotional items
  • Create and maintain internal inventory receiving documentation
  • Maintain permit and master file records in compliance with U.S. Customs regulations
  • Calculate storage charges and coordinate payment requests when applicable
  • Prepare and file discrepancy reports related to shortages or damaged cargo
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and other governmental agency regulations


Qualifications


  • Minimum 3 years of experience in customs import coordination, international logistics, or a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs Regulations, FTZ/CBW procedures, and import/export operations
  • Experience working with ACE filing systems and customs documentation
  • Intermediate Excel skills required
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure in a deadline-driven environment


Preferred Experience


  • Experience within travel retail, consumer goods, logistics, freight forwarding, or international distribution environments
  • Familiarity with FDA and USDA import compliance requirements
