Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Principal/Sr. Principal Industrial Engineer Level 3/4 to support our Industrial Engineering Operations Management (IEOM) organization. This candidate will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Iuka, MS.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand most effectively and efficiently Power BI and data systems to develop performance visuals include: a relevant degree, experience with Power BI, data literacy (ETL, SQL, data modeling), ability to create and share dashboards, and strong communication skills for presenting actionable insights.

  • Builds scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, while incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints

  • Develops optimized scheduling tools and aligns SAP/MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraints

  • Incorporates complex interdependencies within a system to account for the interaction of multiple cost centers, programs, equipment, and tools

  • Communicates requirements planning and systems framework with IT, ERP, business analytics, and data science teams

  • Works with developers to design an interactive user interface that will be effective at scheduling jobs across cost centers

  • Guides digital transformation efforts to align with sector and enterprise strategies

  • Leads and drives positive change using iterative and agile methodologies

  • Creates new metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance

This requisition may be filled as a Principal Industrial Engineer level 3 or Sr. Principal Industrial Engineer Level 4 depending on the qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications

Principal Industrial Engineer Level 3:

  • Bachelor's in STEM with 4 or more years of engineering experience in the following fields; Manufacturing, Systems, Management, Mechanical, Process, Data Analysis ;OR a Master's degree in STEM with 3 or more years of engineering in mentioned fields, OR; PhD in STEM with 0 years of experience.

  • Experience with Power BI and data systems to develop performance visuals include: experience with Power BI, data literacy (ETL, SQL, data modeling), ability to create and share dashboards, and strong communication skills for presenting actionable insights.

  • Experience in Microsoft Office excel, including macros, data mining, and pivot tables or data visualization software applications.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Security Clearance and Special Program Access in a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.

  • Experience in leading prior teams

  • Experience in Project Management

Sr. Principal Industrial Engineer Level 4:

  • Bachelor's in STEM with 8 or more years of engineering experience in the following fields; Manufacturing, Systems, Management, Mechanical, Process, Data Analysis ;OR a Master's degree in STEM with 6 or more years of engineering in mentioned fields, OR; PhD in STEM with 4 years of experience.

  • Experience with Power BI and data systems to develop performance visuals include: experience with Power BI, data literacy (ETL, SQL, data modeling), ability to create and share dashboards, and strong communication skills for presenting actionable insights.

  • Experience in Microsoft Office excel, including macros, data mining, and pivot tables or data visualization software applications.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Security Clearance and Special Program Access in a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.

  • Experience in leading prior teams

  • Experience in Project Management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret DoD Clearance.

  • Defense Industry Experience.

  • MRP/MES experience

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment

  • 2years of demonstrated experience leading project teams

  • Experience with SQL, VBA, or other programming languages

  • Experience with improving manufacturing workflow using optimization, modeling, or simulation methods

  • Familiarity with mixed model manufacturing operations

  • Experience with agile methods of project management or development

  • Strong experience designing visualizations in PowerBI or similar software package in a professional work environment

  • Experience in production/program scheduling

Primary Level Salary Range: $84,700.00 - $127,100.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $105,800.00 - $158,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
