IGS is currently recruiting a remote ServiceNow Engineer to support our work with a federal customer. Please note the role is contingent upon award.


Assignment of Work and Travel:

This is a remote access assignment. The Candidate will work remotely daily and will remotely access customer systems and therein use approved customer provided communications systems. Travel is not required; however, the candidate may be required to attend onsite client meetings as requested.


The ServiceNow Engineer will be responsible for defining system scope, developing detailed technical specifications, and executing full lifecycle application development, including coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. They leverage front-end and back-end development expertise, support agile processes, and provide technical guidance to team members while ensuring solutions align with customer needs.


Responsibilities and Duties (Included but not limited to):

  • Responsible for the design, configuration, development, and implementation of ServiceNow-based enterprise solutions supporting IT Service Management (ITSM), case management, workflow automation, and digital service delivery.
  • Ensures delivery of scalable, secure, and compliant solutions aligned with customerโ€™s enterprise architecture, cybersecurity standards, and business objectives.
  • Provides technical expertise across the full project lifecycle, including platform configuration and customization, integrations, data migration, DevSecOps alignment, IAM integration, testing, deployment, and environment management.
  • Supports proof-of-concept efforts, evaluates technical alternatives, mitigates implementation risks, and ensures adherence to ServiceNow best practices, governance standards, and change management processes.
  • Collaborates closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure solution quality, performance optimization, and long-term platform sustainment.
  • Responsible for designing detailed technical solutions to achieve project goals and ensures alignment of individual software projects with overall business strategy and technology standards.
  • Provides recommendations and roadmaps for proposed solutions and performs design, debug, and performance analysis on solutions.
  • Documents and share best practice knowledge for new solutions and advocates for process improvements and helping develop solutions providing technical leadership to a team throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develops proof-of-concept projects to validate proposed solutions, reviews and validates solutions designs from other team members.
  • Collaborates closely with development teams to oversee solution implementation.
  • Evaluates project constraints to identify alternatives, mitigate risks, and potentially re-engineer processes.
  • Acts as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Prepare detailed specifications for application builds.
  • Assist with user story creation and grooming.
  • Responsible for coding, testing, debugging, and creating technical documentation.
  • Technical knowledge and responsibility of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming.
  • Understands the business or function for which the application is designed.
  • Instructing, directing, and checking the work of other technical team members.
  • Adept at developing front-end portals, and back-end console development.
  • Experience with programming languages and databases including PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON.
  • Experience building scoped applications.

Requirements:
  • 7+ years overall IT experience with significant ServiceNow implementation and engineering experience.
  • IT application system experience in technology solution delivery.
  • Experience with platform customization in relevant delivery platforms.
  • Experience with custom application development including Custom Service Portal widget creation.
  • Developing and customizing core applications such as Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, and Service Catalog.
  • Experience working and developing with JavaScript - HTML5, Jelly, jQuery, and AngularJS.
  • Leading and mentoring Junior ServiceNow team members.
  • Implementing systems using the Agile/Scrum methodology.
  • Experienced in Section 508 compliance.
  • Ability to support customers during EST hours.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and organization skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an HHS Public Trust
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship due to clearance requirement.

Preferred Qualifications and Core Competencies:

  • Integration experience (SOAP, REST, and JSON as well as JDBC and file imports).
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with an API-led Integration Platform such as MuleSoft or Apigee.
  • Administration of a ServiceNow instance including the management of users, groups, and roles, CMS Development, ACLs, business rules, workflows, UI actions, UI policies, dictionary, and catalog items Orchestration and Discovery experience is a plus.
  • Experience with rebuilding and refactoring legacy applications in ServiceNow is a plus.
  • Experience conducting ServiceNow instance upgrades.
  • ServiceNow Developer Certification is strongly preferred.
  • Active HHS Public Trust
  • Prior, successful experience working in a remote environment.
