Position Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and driven Project Manager with experience in miscellaneous and architectural steel. This role requires strong expertise in design review, shop drawings, material procurement, fabrication, and field coordination for commercial construction projects involving products like stairs, railings, platforms, and structural supports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Scheduling: Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring key deliverables are met and milestones achieved.
  • Safety Management: Create and implement job-specific safety plans and JHAs; ensure job site safety compliance.
  • Design Coordination: Review and interpret design drawings, track revisions, and manage scope changes.
  • Change Orders: Prepare pricing and documentation for change requests and negotiate adjustments as needed.
  • Field Collaboration: Act as the primary onsite presence, resolving field issues in real time and coordinating with trades.
  • Procurement: Issue purchase orders and subcontracts; ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Production Oversight: Monitor and manage productivity, schedule, cost, quality, and safety across all assigned projects.
  • Shop Drawings: Guide drafting staff; review and approve drawings for accuracy before submission.
  • Client & Vendor Relations: Maintain strong communication with clients, vendors, and field teams to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
  • Project Controls: Forecast costs, track job metrics, and lead post-project reviews for lessons learned and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in steel project management (miscellaneous or architectural metals preferred)
  • Strong understanding of construction scopes including structural, electrical, and architectural
  • Experience reviewing and managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, field work orders, certified payrolls, OCIP/CCIP, and pay apps
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to travel to job sites and be present on-site as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Estimating and bidding experience in the construction industry
  • Familiarity with CAD, Revit, Advance Steel, and/or Tekla
  • Experience developing client proposals and negotiating contracts
