Job description

Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-end architectural woodwork and custom fixtures, seeks a Project Manager with millwork experience to lead complex, custom build projects from kickoff through installation. Based on-site in Providence, RI, this role manages schedules, budgets, materials, production alignment, and site execution while partnering closely with engineering, production, purchasing, vendors, subcontractors, and customers to deliver on time, on budget, and to exacting quality standards. Responsibilities
  • Lead assigned custom millwork and fixture projects from initial handoff through final installation and closeout
  • Plan and run project kickoff and turnover meetings to align scope, deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities
  • Conduct site visits for field measurements, progress reviews, and installation supervision
  • Develop, maintain, and track detailed project schedules and milestones
  • Own project budgets; monitor costs and support profit targets
  • Identify required materials and coordinate purchasing and delivery schedules
  • Collaborate with engineering on shop drawings, feasibility reviews, and value engineering opportunities
  • Coordinate with production to align capacity, maintain schedules, and uphold quality standards
  • Verify materials, finishes, and dimensions prior to release for production and shipment
  • Coordinate deliveries and site installations with general contractors and subcontractors
  • Communicate project status, risks, and changes to internal teams and customers proactively
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve project risks, change orders, and field issues
  • Maintain organized and accurate project records within ERP and project tracking systems
  • Support vendor and subcontractor selection, onboarding, and performance management
  • Multi-task across several concurrent custom projects while maintaining accuracy and organization
  • Travel to client sites as needed for measurements, reviews, and installation oversight
Requirements
  • 3+ years of project or account management experience in millwork, store fixtures, POP, exhibits, or specialty construction
  • Proven track record managing custom one-off builds from kickoff to installation and closeout
  • Ability to work on-site in Providence, RI
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, materials, finishes, and fabrication processes
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Strong client-facing and cross-functional communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate engineering, production, purchasing, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Proficiency with ERP and project tracking systems for documentation and reporting
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site visits and installations
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
