Job description

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Ackley Hartnett Company is building the future of pharmaceutical and confectionary making equipment. We provide high-precision printing, laser marking, and laser drilling solutions for tablets, capsules, soft gels, and confectionary across all shapes and materials. With single or double-sided printing and one or multi-color options, our team delivers solutions that help your product reach the market looking its best. Machinists prepare and operate a variety of manual machines (lathe, Bridgeport, grinders), to produce precision parts from various metal & polymer types (Stainless, Carbon, Alum; Cast, Exotics, Delrin, UHMW, Various Plastics) and configurations (Forging, Bar Stock Weldments, Casting, Plate).

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES

  • Set up and operate CNC Machines with Fanuc Controls (G Code)
  • Ability to make small changes and edit programs on the machine
  • Ability to think and plan through the complete machining process
  • Select and set all tooling required for each job
  • Machine, deburr, and inspect parts to drawing specs
  • Ability to machine a wide variety of materials such as Stainless Steels, Aluminum, and Plastic
  • Performs machine maintenance per preventative maintenance instructions

Experience with the following machines and software is highly beneficial:

  • Haas Vertical Mills and Lathes
  • Doosan Vertical Mills (Fanuc I Series Control)
  • Doosan LYNX 2100 (Fanuc I Series Control with Live Tooling)
  • Proto Track 2 Axis Mills
  • Mori Seki Horizontal Mills
  • Various Saws and Grinders

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated safety awareness and training in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years' experience as a CNC Operator / Machinist
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment including management and engineering
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Self-motivated and able to keep a clean, organized, workspace
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong drawing reading skills plus GD&T understanding
  • Strong measuring and inspection skills
  • Must understand the different speeds, feeds, and their relation to material
  • Able to take direction and constructive criticism

EDUCATIONAL/PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED and/or Machining Certificates
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment physical
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
  • Every day repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement, involving gripping and wrist torquing
  • Every day standing, walking, bending, crouching, and stooping
  • Everyday lifting 25-50 lbs.
  • Exposure to moving machinery, dust, dirt, grease, or other disagreeable elements
