Job description

Olsen Custom Homes

Custom Homes Project Manager

Location: Daytona Beach, FL. Projects are located throughout Volusia and Flagler counties.

Build Exceptional Homes Without Getting Lost in the Hierarchy

Since 2002, Olsen Custom Homes has designed and built distinctive luxury homes across Northeast and Central Florida. Our award-winning team combines thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship, innovative building practices, and attentive customer service to create homes that reflect each client's vision. We believe in building with integrity, both in the homes we deliver and in the relationships we develop along the way.

Olsen Custom Homes is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a manageable portfolio of approximately five to six custom homes at a time. You will take day-to-day ownership of each assigned home from the field start through closing, coordinating trade partners, inspections, materials, schedules, quality control, and client communication.

This is a field-focused role without unnecessary layers of management. The office team handles selections and design coordination, allowing you to concentrate on what you do best: safely and efficiently building exceptional custom homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned custom homes from the construction start through closing.
  • Maintain current project schedules and rolling two-week look-ahead plans.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, materials, inspections, and construction sequencing.
  • Review plans, specifications, scopes, selections, redlines, and approved change orders before work begins.
  • Inspect jobsites regularly for quality, safety, cleanliness, security, and code compliance.
  • Identify scheduling conflicts, material delays, inspection risks, and field issues before they affect the client or closing date.
  • Hold trade partners accountable for workmanship, scheduling, safety, and completion requirements.
  • Meet with inspectors and document inspection results and corrective actions.
  • Keep clients informed and respond promptly to questions and project updates.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, photographs, schedules, and field documentation in Buildertrend.
  • Lead homeowner walkthroughs, punch-out, final inspections, and closeout activities.
  • Help reduce punch-list items, warranty callbacks, and preventable construction defects.

Qualifications

  • At least three years of construction operations or project management experience.
  • Custom or high-end residential construction experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, building codes, quality control, and jobsite safety.
  • Proven ability to manage construction schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, scopes, and construction documents.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable communicating directly with clients, inspectors, vendors, and trade partners.
  • Experience with Buildertrend or similar construction management software preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital project documentation.
  • High school diploma required; some college or construction-related education preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly between local job sites.

Pay and Benefits

  • Full-time, W-2 employment.
  • Pay: $60,000 - $80,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Health insurance.
  • Dental insurance.
  • Life insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching.
  • Paid time off.
  • Manageable project assignments with support from an experienced construction and office team.
  • Opportunity to build high-quality custom homes throughout Florida's coastal communities.
  • Typical schedule: Monday-Friday, with occasional additional time required based on project needs.

Why Olsen Custom Homes?

At Olsen Custom Homes, you will have meaningful ownership of your projects without being buried beneath multiple layers of management. You will work with a capable office team that handles design and selections, allowing you to stay focused on construction, quality, and the client experience. Our manageable project loads support better planning, stronger trade relationships, and greater attention to detail. Join an established, award-winning builder where integrity, accountability, and exceptional homes are at the center of the work.
