POSITION SUMMARY
Material handlers are essential to the daily operation of our manufacturing business, moving inventory and production supplies safely from warehouses to assembly room floors, production or between facilities. You would ensure the safe and timely delivery of materials, employing the highest industry safety standards. Coordinate with a team of lifters to maximize efficiency, paying careful attention to detail, ensuring the proper completion of every order. If you exemplify strong leadership skills, time management abilities and motivation, you are the candidate we are looking for. As a material handler, you will become an integral part of company operations and strengthen our business' efficiency, timeliness, and commitment to service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Lift and unload heavy pallets, both by hand and by machine, and safely relocate them elsewhere in the warehouse or prepare them for transport.
  • Facilitate and maintain a safe work environment and a trained workforce, committed to the best practices in the industry.
  • Perform quality inspections of materials, ensuring that the delivery is completed as requested and that the order meets company and industry standards.
  • Handles, moves, and stores various non-hazardous and hazardous materials within a warehouse.
  • Main duties include loading and unloading different transport items, recording inventory statuses, and making sure deliveries properly match production orders.
  • Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product final distribution.
  • Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.
  • Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.
  • Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
  • Documents materials and records units delivered and location of units.
  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs.
  • Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks, ships, and loading docks.
  • Learns and adheres to workplace safety regulations.
Job Skills & Qualifications
Required:
  • High school or GED degree
  • Previous manufacturing or warehouse experience
  • Detail oriented for inventory accuracy.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • 1+ years of experience in forklift, pallet jack and other heavy equipment operations.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and demonstrate effective initiative.
  • Should be goal oriented, confident, outgoing, and able to work well under pressure and succeed within a competitive environment.
Preferred:
  • 1+ years of experience in Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Understanding of how to use RF and handheld scanners.
  • Skills in basic computer software, such as MS Word, Excel, etc.
  • Basic math, writing and oral communication abilities.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see and use repetitive motions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift and or move up to 70 pounds of material, boxes, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as reading handwritten and or typed material and must have the ability to focus.
