About the Role:


We are seeking a CNC Operator / Programmer with a background in woodworking operations to join our team in a small, fast-paced manufacturing environment. This individual will be responsible for programming and operating CNC equipment for wood processing.


  • Location: On-site in Florence, AL.
  • Shift: Full-time. 1st Shift.
  • Hours: Monday – Thursday, 10 hour workdays. 40 hours per week.


What You’ll Do:


  • Support daily production scheduling, including resource planning and coordination with shop personnel.
  • Create, edit, and interpret CNC programs (including B-Solid programming) for routers, saws, and other woodworking machinery.
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, feeds, and speeds based on wood species and process type; recognize and deploy inserts and fixtures correctly.
  • Understand and interpret blueprints to guide setup and machining decisions.
  • Test and validate CNC programs, using gages and measuring instruments and performing tool wear offsets to ensure precision, safety, and repeatability within tolerance requirements.
  • Properly and safely load and unload castings and raw materials in CNC machinery.
  • Perform regular cleaning and light maintenance on CNC machinery.
  • Support continuous improvement in machining processes, setups, and fixture design.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and production teams to implement product changes.
  • Perform all tasks safely and responsibly, complying with ISO requirements, safety procedures, and all quality policies, specifications, and regulations.


What We’re Looking For:


  • 3+ years of experience in woodworking, custom manufacturing, or a related environment (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Experience with CNC programming preferred (G-code, Mastercam, Fusion 360, or MozaiK).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, process optimization, and production scheduling.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, applied to practical shop situations.
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills; familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills; comfortable working hands-on in a warehouse production setting.

  • Experience in wood machining, finishing, and assembly operations.
  • Familiarity with custom or small-batch production environments.
  • Work closely with management and shop teams to innovate and improve processes.

Physical Demands and Abilities

  • Ability to lift 40-50 pounds.
