Job description

Primary Job Scope

Mechanical and Structural Design of Process Equipment

Qualifications
  • Ability to adhere to project deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be self‑motivated and well organized
  • Respect and adhere to all legal confidentiality agreements with Applied Chemical Technology and associated clients
  • Ability to maintain an effective, courteous, and tactful relationship with other employees and clients
  • Must be willing to travel (including international travel as needed)
  • 4‑year bachelor degree in mechanical engineering (BSME)
Experience
  • 5 years in the field of Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent Experience in a related field
  • In taking information or internal process data to develop fabrication concepts and detailed drawings
  • In project services such as cost estimating and cost control
  • Must be proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Excel and Word
  • With fertilizer plants and custom equipment, helpful
  • In structural and concrete design
  • Familiar and able to implement designs to ASME BPVC and AWS D1.1 Codes
  • With power transmission design, including bearing and speed reducer selection
General Description of Work
  • This job will encompass all areas of Mechanical and Structural Design Services and Cost Estimates.
Job Duties
  • Will report to the Director of Mechanical Design
  • Mechanical and structural design of process equipment
  • Assist with mechanical assembly, troubleshooting and start‑up of equipment
Physical Demands
  • Occasional lifting or handling of equipment and tools
  • Climbing stairs and ladders
Hours

40 hrs/week; must be able to work on short notice and work extra hours, including weekends, if needed.
