Job description

Are you ready to bring your Assembly skills to a team that values precision and innovation? At Martin Sprocket & Gear, we're dedicated to producing quality mechanical power transmission components, material handling systems, and custom forgings with excellence, and we're looking for skilled Assemblers like you!
What You'll Do::
  • Material Preparation: Review job specifications and gather necessary parts for assembly.
  • Process Setup: Verify materials and set up the assembly process to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assembly: Assemble parts according to blueprint specifications using hand, power, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect final products to meet quality standards and transport them to the shipping department.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain tools, equipment, and work area cleanly and safely.
  • Heavy Lifting: Operate a crane or hoist to lift items weighing more than 50 lbs.
  • Safety Compliance: Work safely and wear the required PPE for the entire shift.
  • Team Flexibility: Work in other areas or departments as assigned to meet company goals.

What You'll Bring:
  • Basic Skills: Average math skills and simple oral communication skills; ability to read and comprehend instructions in English and complete logs and reports in English.
  • Measurement Accuracy: Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16th of an inch.
  • Assembly Expertise: Background in assembly or installation with strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Blueprint Reading: Experience interpreting and working from blueprints.
  • Physical Capability: Handling heavy items, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning products.
  • Shift Readiness: Ability to consistently stand for the entire shift and work scheduled hours in compliance with company policies.
  • Strength Requirement: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly.
  • Environmental Adaptability: Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Demonstrates teamwork and the ability to work well with others.
  • Personal Attributes: Accuracy, reliability, and commitment to quality and safety.

Your Schedule:
  • 2nd Shift, Monday - Thursday, 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM
