Premier Cooperative is seeking a dependable, hardworking individual to join our Agronomy Operations team in Richland Center. This position offers a variety of responsibilities throughout the year, supporting agronomy operations during the growing season, grain operations during harvest, and propane delivery or shop maintenance work during the winter months. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Agronomy Operations
- Load, unload, store, and handle fertilizer, seed, and crop protection products.
- Assist with custom application of crop protection products and plant nutrients.
- Operate agronomy equipment including spreaders, tenders, forklifts, loaders, and support equipment.
- Deliver agronomy products to customer locations in a safe and timely manner.
- Assist with inventory management and facility operations.
- Support seasonal agronomy activities and customer service needs.
Grain Operations Support
- Assist with grain receiving, handling, drying, and storage activities during harvest.
- Operate grain handling equipment and maintain grain facilities.
- Support truck loading and unloading activities.
- Assist customers delivering grain and maintain a clean, safe work environment during peak harvest periods.
Winter Operations
- Depending on business needs and employee skills, assist with:
- Propane delivery and energy operations.
- Equipment repair and preventative maintenance in the shop.
- Maintenance projects on trucks, trailers, application equipment, and facility equipment.
- General facility and grounds maintenance.
Qualifications
- Agricultural background preferred but not required.
- CDL or ability to obtain.
- Commercial Applicator License or ability to obtain.
- Mechanical aptitude preferred.
- Ability to safely operate or learn to operate agricultural equipment.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude with strong customer service skills.
- Must be insurable under company insurance requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 60-80 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, tanks, and agricultural equipment.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, walk, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Seasonal Expectations
Agriculture is seasonal, and this position requires flexibility. Employees should expect extended hours, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays during planting, application, and harvest seasons.
