What We Look For In a Cursor Tutor

Guides students through writing code with AI suggestions, using chat to generate and modify code across files, leveraging codebase context for accurate completions, and integrating AI assistance into existing development workflows. Emphasizes maintaining code quality while using AI acceleration and connects Cursor to modern software development productivity.
  • Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with AI-augmented development tool training needs and common challenges such as understanding when to accept versus reject AI suggestions, managing context for accurate code generation, and transitioning from traditional editors. Adapts instruction using guided coding sessions, project-based development practice, and workflow optimization tips to support developers from Cursor beginners through advanced users maximizing AI-assisted coding productivity.
  • Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
