A Curriculum Developer Part Time job involves designing, developing, and improving educational materials, lesson plans, and instructional programs on a part-time basis. Responsibilities may include researching educational standards, creating course content, and working with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and effectiveness. This role is often found in schools, colleges, training organizations, or corporate settings. Part-time curriculum developers typically work flexible hours and may collaborate remotely or on-site, depending on the employer.
To thrive as a Curriculum Developer Part Time, you need strong instructional design expertise, subject matter knowledge, and experience with educational standards, usually backed by a relevant degree in education or a related field. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate, and sometimes certifications like ATD or ISTE, is important. Excellent written communication, creativity, collaboration, and time management are standout soft skills for this position. These skills and qualities enable curriculum developers to create effective, engaging learning materials that meet educational goals within limited working hours.
A part-time Curriculum Developer typically manages a flexible schedule, dividing their hours between research, lesson planning, and developing instructional materials either independently or as part of a team. Tasks often include collaborating with subject matter experts, revising existing content, and aligning curriculum with educational standards. Communication may be primarily virtual, requiring efficient self-management and frequent updates to project leads or team members. This structure allows for a balanced workload suitable for those seeking a reduced or flexible schedule while still making a meaningful impact on educational programs.
