Job description

Head Coach - Highline Premier FC

Highline Premier FC is seeking passionate and experienced Head Coaches to join our team in shaping the next generation of youth athletes. As a Head Coach, you'll play a vital role in developing well-rounded players through technical instruction, positive mentorship, and competitive play. You'll implement HPFC's player development curriculum while fostering teamwork, respect, and love for the game.

In this position, you will:

  • Create and implement developmentally appropriate training sessions using HPFC's unique curriculum, aligned with performance benchmarks.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive team environment.
  • Manage player and parent communication with professionalism and clarity.
  • Ensure compliance with all club policies, safety protocols, and expectations for conduct.
  • Attend and coach 2-3 practices per week, participate in league games (WPL & RCL), and coach at local and regional tournaments.
  • Support and participate in annual May tryouts, with additional evaluations for younger age groups as needed.
  • Contribute to the broader club culture by attending meetings, club events, and collaborating with other coaching staff and the Director of Coaching.
  • Provide regular, constructive feedback to players and families to support continued growth.

Highline Premier FC, the leading youth soccer organization in West Seattle, Burien and Des Moines, supports nearly 500 players across teams from 8U to 18U, offering a demanding, organized, nurturing environment with competitive standards, developing players' skills and confidence for success on and off the field. We are committed to player development, integrity, and fostering a lifelong love of the game.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years coaching experience, preferably in organized youth soccer
  • Proven ability to lead, teach, and mentor young athletes
  • Experience managing a team of at least 10 players
  • Commitment to HPFC's mission, values, and professional standards
  • Proficient in communication tools (email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) - strong verbal and written communication skills
  • USSF Grassroots Licenses

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of Premier-level soccer experience as a player and/or coach
  • USSF National "D" coaching license with plans to earn advanced licenses and diplomas within two years of being hired

Compensation:

  • $600-$1,600/month per team, depending on qualifications and experience
  • Additional benefits include medical insurance, 401K, WA Long-Term Disability insurance, travel reimbursement, education reimbursement, work/life balance

Coaches may be assigned to one or more teams depending on availability and qualifications.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift to 35 pounds occasionally

  • Must reside in Washington State and have reliable transportation
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends
