Job description

The Radio Show Producer needs to have organizational ability, and research, writing and interviewing skills. The Morning Show Producer should have a clear speaking voice, as they sometimes have to speak on air, and good communication skills because they deal with the public. They must also have technical skills such as digital editing and sound recording skills. Must have strong understanding of social media and have the ability to properly post on social media about the show.
The Radio Show Producer needs to be friendly, motivated, patient, creative and imaginative. The Radio Show Producer needs to be able to work well under pressure, motivate other people, keep to a schedule and meet deadlines. They should also have a good ear for sound.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Determine the program content within station guidelines
  • Attend production meetings and help decide what will be broadcast
  • Keep up-to-date with the music industry and current affairs
  • Organize individuals and groups to be recorded or to appear on the radio
  • Edit recordings.
  • Transfer pre-recorded segments onto a computer system for broadcasters to play on air
  • Answer phone calls during shows and pass relevant information on to broadcasters
  • Research information for radio shows
  • Post information about the show or radio station on social media.
  • Ability to generate desired synergism with audience and establishes listenership motivation and loyalty.
  • Ability to conduct typical on-air interviews and interact with callers
  • Ability to enunciate clearly and interpret and read copy fluently.
  • Ability to understand and execute format philosophy and work with a team of other professionals in creating a distinctive sound.
  • Ability to properly operate studio equipment.
