Job description

Join a creative, supportive, and highly skilled team where you'll get hands-on mentorship and training to grow your cake decorating skills. Sweet Treets Bakery is a woman-owned, Austin-based bakery specializing in wedding cakes, specialty cakes, cupcakes, and desserts that are both beautiful and unforgettable. For more than a decade, we've built our reputation on artistry, precision, and flavor. We're now looking for a Cake Decorator Apprentice to join our team, assist our decorating team on custom orders, and learn hands-on techniques from some of the most skilled decorators in Austin.


What We're Looking For


  • Previous cake decorating experience required (student cake decorators welcome to apply)
  • Basic skills in buttercream, fondant, and piping techniques
  • Eagerness to learn both classic and modern cake design under the guidance of experienced decorators
  • Strong time management and ability to assist with multiple orders simultaneously
  • A positive, collaborative attitude and pride in craftsmanship
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends


Responsibilities


  • Mix buttercream colors and prepare fondant to team specifications
  • Stack cakes and assist with basic decorating tasks
  • Support the decorating team on wedding cakes, birthday cakes, decorated cookies, and cupcake orders
  • Learn advanced techniques from our highly skilled decorating team
  • Assist with production, preparation, and finishing work as needed
  • Keep decorating tools and workspace clean and organized
