Reporting to the Program Manager, the Electric Engineer develops and optimizes GPU-accelerated algorithms supporting high-fidelity simulation models used in the WAF HWIL simulation environment. The engineer supports performance optimization of models operating under strict real-time constraints. This is a contingent position expected to be located in Newport, RI.


  • Develops and optimizes algorithms executed on Graphics Processing Units (GPUs).
  • Implements parallel processing techniques to support real-time simulation requirements.
  • Supports development and enhancement of high-fidelity simulation models leveraging GPU acceleration.
  • Integrates GPU-based algorithms into the WAF simulation architecture.
  • Conducts performance testing and optimization to ensure models meet timing constraints.
  • Utilizes CUDA and parallel computing frameworks in support of simulation performance improvements.
  • Provides documentation and technical reports supporting GPU-based model development.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required.
  • Three (3) years of experience operating CAT 3 weight-handling equipment in industrial, laboratory, or government environments preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience working with high-fidelity models where the primary computational algorithm is executed on GPUs.
  • Five (5) years of experience developing or optimizing GPU-accelerated algorithms.
  • Experience with CUDA programming and parallel processing environments.
  • Experience supporting real-time simulation systems.
  • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
