Job description

Applicants must be third or fourth-year students of accredited domestic or international veterinary schools, pursuing a DVM, VMD, or foreign equivalent.


Pet Emergency & Referral Center in sunny Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, is excited to welcome third- and fourth-year veterinary student externs to our hospital. We offer a mixture of day and night shifts in our specialty and emergency services, so you'll have plenty of learning opportunities, plus time to enjoy our wonderful year-round weather.

Program Overview:

Students in our externship program are typically scheduled for a mixture of four total day and night shifts per week for two weeks, although we can adjust your schedule and accommodate longer stays. You'll rotate through our emergency, internal medicine, and surgery departments, and be able to participate as much as you are comfortable. Our most successful students come hungry to learn and engage closely with our veterinarians to get the most out of the experience.
