Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Press Break / Laser Operator to support daily production of custom sheet metal components. This role requires strong fabrication skills, precise measurement, and safe operation of metal-forming equipment. Ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and producing high-quality finished parts.

Duties

  • Laser cut and form sheet metal components according to specifications.
  • Program and Operate a Trumpf TruBend CNC Press Break
  • Program and operate a Tumpf 6 KW TruFiber Laser & 4KW IPG Fiber Laser Cube.
  • Read and interpret **shop drawings** and fabrication layouts.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and form metal with accuracy.
  • Inspect finished parts for quality and correct tolerances.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area.
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Assist with material handling and staging as needed.
  • Collaborate with production team to meet deadlines.

Experience

  • Must have prior sheet metal experience with press breaks and lasers.
  • Excellent math skills to understand sheet-metal bending tolerances and measurements.
  • Strong measurement skills with calipers, angle gauges, optical comparators and CMMs.
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings and understand GD&T requirements.
  • Comfortable lifting 50 lbs and standing for full shifts.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused.

Other Attributes

  • Must be comfortable with technology and computers, both touch screens and PC based applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, must be comfortable interacting with a team.
  • Machine programming and operation are necessary job functions. Must have experience or be teachable.
  • Energetic, high ethical standards and solid work ethic.
  • Attention to detail and safety oriented.
