Job description

Job Title: CAREER AND TECHINCAL EDUCATION (FAC) 
STUDENT WORKER
Reports to: CTE 
DIRECTOR
FLSA status: NON-EXEMPT Supervisor duties: NONE Classification: CLASSIFIED Approved on:   Position Summary: The CTE Student Worker provides administrative, technical, and logistical support to the school district and its staff. This position offers a student the opportunity to gain hands-on experience by applying skills learned in their specific CTE pathway within a professional, real-world setting. This is an at-will, part-time position with varying hours depending on departmental needs. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:       
 

  • Administrative and clerical support: Perform general office tasks such as answering phones, greeting visitors, filing, scanning, copying, and data entry.
  • Program assistance: Assist with classroom or lab setup and help maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Student support: Greet students, direct inquiries, and assist with basic questions related to projects or tasks.
  • Workplace ethics: Demonstrate professionalism, effective communication, and a positive attitude.
  • Safety compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations for the assigned workplace, including classroom, lab, or office settings.
  • Maintain confidentiality: Handle sensitive information, including student records, with discretion.
  • Other duties: Perform other program-related tasks as assigned by staff. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • Program knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the specific CTE program, including its procedures and course materials.
  • Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and visitors.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency with general office software (Microsoft Office, Google Apps) and other specific tools or equipment relevant to the CTE program.
  • Organization skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Work ethic: Must be responsible, trustworthy, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. 

 
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
 

  • Education: Must be a currently enrolled CTE student in good academic standing.

Desired qualifications

  • Experience with the specific software or equipment used in the CTE program.
  • Experience in a customer service or office environment.
