M&J Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Field Catenary Engineer to support complex overhead contact system (OCS) and catenary installations on high-profile rail infrastructure projects. This position is responsible for providing field engineering oversight, coordinating OCS activities, ensuring compliance with agency requirements, and supporting the successful delivery of construction projects.

  • Ensure project activities comply with client, agency, and contract requirements.
  • Apply catenary engineering calculations to field installation and construction activities.
  • Monitor and oversee subcontractor field installation work.
  • Coordinate field conditions with design drawings and construction documents.
  • Attend project meetings with Design-Build teams, clients, and project stakeholders.
  • Support field installation activities and supervise inspection staff during night and weekend shifts, as required.
  • Review design packages and construction plans to determine staffing needs and allocate resources effectively.
  • Manage material certifications, submittals, and documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications and agency requirements.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and inspectors to resolve field issues and maintain project schedules.
  • Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards and procedures.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on Design-Build transportation projects.
  • Experience with Amtrak Northeast Corridor projects.
  • Previous employment with or retirement from Amtrak.
  • CSX Track Safety Training and/or Amtrak Track Safety Training.
  • Strong knowledge of overhead contact systems (OCS), catenary construction, and rail infrastructure projects.
