Job Description
Operating Room Nurse
Unit Information
Join a dynamic team in the Operating Room with a total of 12 beds: 4 in the main OR and 8 in the pavilion. The unit handles approximately 15-25 cases per day, with a monthly total of around 400 cases. Common procedures include orthopedic surgeries, neuro and orthopedic spine surgeries, cardiovascular cases, general surgeries, gynecology, urology, and ENT.
Qualifications
  • Must hold a valid BLS certification.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an Operating Room environment is required.
  • Experience with Cerner Surginet is highly preferred.
  • Experience in cardiovascular or robotic cases is needed only if applicable.
Shifts & Call Requirements
Shifts may start between 6 AM and 9 AM and are typically 10 hours in length. There are no evening or weekend shifts required. Nurses will be on call for one shift per week and every fourth weekend. Holiday coverage will be managed through a call system as needed.
Orientation
New hires will undergo a comprehensive orientation process lasting 2 weeks, including one week of paperwork and one week partnered with a preceptor in the unit.
Additional Information
  • All anesthesia will be administered by anesthesiologists; CRNAs are not utilized.
  • Critical patients are transferred directly to the ICU from the OR.
  • Scrub colors will be provided by the facility.
  • No floating to other units is required.
  • This position falls under an acute care division.
