Job description

Job Summary:
Sentar Inc. is an employee-owned company focused on cybersecurity, intelligence, and systems engineering. They are seeking a Solutions Engineer to manage the Atlassian application suite, ensuring its stability and performance while collaborating with teams to optimize development operations.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with diverse teams and skillsets to engineer creative solutions that improve daily development operations.
• Establish and advocate for best practices using Atlassian development tools with support from the Knowledge Manager.
• Conduct installations, upgrades, and maintenance of Atlassian tools.
• Manage Identity and Access Management functions, including setting up users, roles, and privileges. Deliver end-user training to ensure effective utilization of Atlassian tools.
• Implement and enforce appropriate security controls to safeguard environments.
• Perform regular system monitoring tasks on assigned Atlassian applications to include reviewing Atlassian system and audit logs, creating new Atlassian documentation, addressing performance concerns, and assessing/adopting new Atlassian features.
• Determine ways to optimize and improve Atlassian workflows. Identify where functionality can or cannot meet user requests.
• Manage and maintain the entire Atlassian suite of applications including plug-ins.
• Create and implement standard templates, defining common and reusable workflows, fields, permission schemes, etc., that can be used across the organization allowing for customization when the unique business case is required.
• Administer and support Atlassian products, including Jira, Confluence, and Service Management. Conduct regular system monitoring to ensure the integrity and availability of all Atlassian tools and plugins.
• Install, configure, and manage plugins and integrations for Atlassian tools. Develop and maintain workflows, permission schemes, notification schemes, and other configurations for Jira and Confluence.
• Provide user management support, including adding and removing users, managing permissions, and processing user requests.
• Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and service records.
• Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization of Atlassian tools.
• Plan and execute system upgrades with minimal disruption to users.
• Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and tailor Atlassian tools to business needs.
• Offer training and support to end-users for efficient use of Atlassian products. Implement and oversee backup and recovery solutions for Atlassian tools.
• Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and standards.
• Keep abreast of the latest features and best practices for Atlassian products. Assist CSSP Scrum teams with Atlassian solutions to comply with SAFe methodologies.
• Possess over two years of experience managing and configuring Atlassian products (Jira Software, Confluence, Jira Service Management) on-premises.
• Demonstrate the ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Show the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure situations.
• Be available for on-call after-hours rotational support as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Clearance Level: Secret with eligibility for upgrade to Top Secret (TS)
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or have equivalent work experience.
• Certifications: Must possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II and DoD 8140 CSSP Auditor compliant certifications.
• Experience: Have a minimum of three to five years of experience in cybersecurity, focusing on both cloud and traditional on-premises infrastructure security.

• Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnosing complex technical issues.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting technical users and conducting requirements analysis.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and oversight.
• Experience with IT Service Management practices and familiarity with Incident and Problem Management processes.
• Proficiency in managing labels and tagging within relevant systems or platforms.
