What are CSS Developers?

CSS Developers are professionals who specialize in using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to design, style, and layout web pages. They work closely with HTML and sometimes JavaScript to ensure that websites are visually appealing, responsive, and consistent across different devices and browsers. CSS Developers may also be responsible for optimizing site performance and maintaining brand guidelines through precise styling. Their work is essential for creating user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing web experiences.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a CSS Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a CSS Developer, you need a solid understanding of CSS, HTML, and responsive web design principles, often supported by experience in front-end development. Familiarity with preprocessors like SASS or LESS, version control systems such as Git, and frameworks like Bootstrap is commonly required. Attention to detail, creativity, and strong communication skills help CSS Developers craft visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces while collaborating with design and development teams. These skills are crucial for delivering high-quality, maintainable code that ensures seamless user experiences across devices.

What tech jobs pay $400,000 a year?

High-paying tech roles such as senior software engineers, solutions architects, and machine learning engineers can earn $400,000 or more annually, especially with experience, specialized skills, and in leadership positions. These roles often require advanced knowledge of programming, cloud platforms, or data science, and may include bonuses and stock options that significantly increase total compensation.

How do CSS Developers typically collaborate with designers and front-end developers during a project?

CSS Developers often work closely with UI/UX designers to translate design mockups into responsive, visually consistent web interfaces. They also collaborate with front-end developers to ensure that styles integrate seamlessly with JavaScript functionality and maintain accessibility standards. Regular communication, code reviews, and use of version control systems like Git are common practices to streamline teamwork and address challenges such as cross-browser compatibility and performance optimization.

Is CSS enough to get a job?

For a CSS Developer role, knowledge of CSS is essential but usually not sufficient on its own; employers typically expect skills in HTML, JavaScript, and familiarity with frameworks or tools like version control. Building a strong portfolio, understanding responsive design, and gaining experience with related technologies increase job prospects. Certifications or practical experience can also improve chances of employment in this field.

How much do CSS developers make?

CSS developers typically earn between $50,000 and $100,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and skill level. Entry-level positions may start lower, while experienced developers with expertise in front-end frameworks and responsive design can earn higher salaries.

What is the difference between Css Developer vs Front-End Developer?

AspectCss DeveloperFront-End Developer
Required SkillsCSS, HTML, basic JavaScriptCSS, HTML, JavaScript, frameworks (React, Angular)
Work EnvironmentFocus on styling and layoutDesign, development, and implementation of user interfaces
Common Industry UsageSpecialized in CSS stylingBroader role including UI/UX and scripting

While Css Developers primarily focus on styling websites using CSS, Front-End Developers handle a wider range of tasks including coding, designing, and implementing interactive features. Both roles require knowledge of HTML and CSS, but Front-End Developers often work with JavaScript frameworks and have a broader scope in web development projects.

What jobs can I get with CSS?

A CSS Developer typically works as a front-end web developer, focusing on designing and implementing website styles using CSS. Skills in HTML, JavaScript, and design tools are often required, and roles may include UI/UX designer, front-end engineer, or web designer. Certifications in web development can enhance job prospects.

Job description

Job Title: Digital Web Producer (CMS & Content Operations)
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and digitally fluent Digital Web Producer to join our team of digital producers responsible for shaping the online experience for our members and partners. In this role, you will manage our portfolio of sites, overseeing planning, development, implementation, and the execution of new digital projects from requirements through launch.
This is a hands-on production and coordination role for someone who understands how websites are built under the hood. You will work cross-functionally across Creative, Technology, Brand, and Business Development teams to build, edit, and maintain web pages and applications. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love troubleshooting code elements, and know your way around enterprise Content Management Systems (CMS), we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Web Production & Content Management
โ€ข Page Building & Maintenance: Create, edit, build, and maintain web pages, digital assets, and applications across our portfolio of existing and future sites.
โ€ข Full-Lifecycle Execution: Manage the complete operational request lifecycle-translating requirements into execution, troubleshooting technical issues, and driving projects through launch with a high degree of accuracy.
โ€ข Code & Debugging: Utilize fundamental HTML, CSS, developer/debugging tools, and developer consoles to inspect elements, verify layouts, and implement technical solutions efficiently.
Collaboration & Project Operations
โ€ข Cross-Functional Delivery: Drive requests across Creative, Technology, Brand, and Business Development teams while managing day-to-day tasks to identify and mitigate potential roadblocks early.
โ€ข Agile & Tracking Standards: Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, utilize project management tools (like Jira) to track milestones, and ensure technical documentation and standards are maintained.
โ€ข Compliance & Best Practices: Educate internal stakeholders on web best practices, champion ADA/accessibility compliance standards, and apply SEO optimization principles.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
โ€ข Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Journalism, Communications, Computer Science, IT, Digital Design (UI/UX), Marketing, or equivalent practical experience in Digital Marketing, Web Authoring, or Front-End Production.
โ€ข Experience Baseline: 2 to 5+ years of professional experience managing digital content operations, large-scale web sites, or e-commerce/online marketing environments.
โ€ข Core Technical Skills:
oSolid working knowledge and experience with Content Management Systems (CMS); enterprise tools like Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) are a strong plus.
oIntermediate-to-advanced proficiency in HTML and CSS, with exposure to reading or interpreting JSON/API/JS snippets.
oFamiliarity with developer tools, debugging browsers, FTP, Figma, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
โ€ข Compliance & Standards: Practical knowledge of ADA/accessibility web compliance and standard web optimization (SEO) practices.
Preferred Attributes
โ€ข Experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies and software delivery life cycles (SDLC).
โ€ข Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a proven talent for crafting targeted messaging and maintaining rigorous grammatical accuracy.
โ€ข Comfortable with ambiguity, highly organized, and capable of prioritizing concurrent projects and shifting deadlines in a high-volume operation.
