Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of cardiac catheterization experience and RCIS, RCES, or ARRT CV certification for a diagnostic cardiac cath lab role

Details
  • Work in a diagnostic cardiac cath lab with 3 procedure rooms and 5 beds
  • Adult to geriatric patient population
  • Average daily census of 8-10 patients
  • Procedures include diagnostic cath, PCI, orbital atherectomy, IABP, Impella, and device implants (no EP studies or ablations)
  • Uses GE Discovery, IABP, Impella, and CSI equipment
  • Epic required for charting; Pyxis, SBAR, and Merge preferred
  • 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • Every other weekend shift required unless otherwise specified
  • May float within department and facility, including to a sister campus
  • 10 call days per month required
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience, including scrubbing heart caths and devices
  • Current BLS, ACLS certifications required
  • RCIS, RCES, or ARRT CV certification required
  • GE Discovery and CSI equipment experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • EKG lead placement, rhythm interpretation, and sinus node rhythm experience required
  • Pacemaker experience preferred
  • Prior travel experience required
  • License required if applicable
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include accurate monitoring, EKG lead placement, room circulator duties, and maintaining sterile field while scrubbing
  • Perform cardiac stent placement, hemodynamic monitoring, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, PCI, PTCA, and right heart catheterization
  • Temporary pacemaker and central venous access (non-tunneled/PICC) experience preferred
  • Scrubs provided by facility
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission
  • Holiday coverage required if 1-2 major holidays fall during the assignment; if 3 major holidays occur, coverage of 2 is expected
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • First-time travelers will not be accepted for this position
  • Candidates with prior Piedmont employment history must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
