RS CS Master Craftsperson Sr in  GAC Savannah


Unique Skills:

Advanced knowledge of sheetmetal or fabrication processes (forming, drilling, stamping, shaping, bending, punching, cutting, 
riveting, filing and dimpling).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Adapts to sudden schedule changes.
Able to use tools and equipment associated with sheetmetal work to include Lathe,CNC and milling equipment.
Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds and work any shift.
Must have a good working knowledge of computers and experience working with MicroSoft Office suite.

Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. 15+ years Fifteen (15) years extensive experience in production/manufacturing/service center. FAA A&P license or be able to obtain a repairman certificate within 30 days of start date. 2 years technical or trade school training in related area preferred. Position Purpose: Technical expert on in-service aircraft. Assumes leadership role in the absence of manager & leads. Perform repairs on installations that require a high degree of accuracy & timeliness. Function independently in a team oriented work environment & in a leadership role when required.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
  1. Perform technical functions such as correct methods of in-service installations, repairs/mods, & refurbishments.
  2. Troubleshoot any problem areas in on in-service aircraft, to determine cause & pursue preventative actions with proper liaison which improves efficiency & product quality.
  3. Assist in problem solving to establish or correct planning methods for in-service aircraft refurbishments & installations efficiently by utilizing standard techniques, procedures & criteria.
  4. Interact with Engineering, Product Support Engineering, & Quality Control to troubleshoot problems & implement solutions.
  5. Organize, develop (with assistance of the Training Department) & administer an Employee Skills Development Program.
  6. Identify & develop training requirements for tooling, test equipment, & other areas.
  7. Plan, schedule & complete tasks in order to meet service/delivery schedules.
  8. Assist management, as required, with supervision & instruction of technicians in proper procedures & techniques of trouble shooting airframe, routine inspections & preventive maintenance. Assist with performance appraisal of subordinates.
  9. Assess strengths & weaknesses of subordinates. Apply strengths for maximum job efficiency & provide guidance & growth opportunities to reinforce developmental areas. Provide diverse learning opportunities.
  10. Maintain a current knowledge of industry standards, vendor information & all other procedures, publications & general knowledge pertaining to product support installations, repairs, & refurbishments.
  11. Assist in maintaining work schedules & updating of CMP cards. Review work, including forms & records, to ensure compliance with Gulfstream Repair Station procedures & FAA Airworthiness St&ards. Review daily job charging to ensure accuracy of charges to aircraft.
  12. Support Lean activities.
  13. Maintain neat & organized work area; support 6S, FOD & other company programs as required.
Additional Functions:
  1. Perform tasks assigned to department technicians or leads during their absence, when required. .
  2. Comply with standard operating procedures. .
  3. Complete all required. paperwork & documentation to include CMP cards, Travelers and R&I log. .
  4. Comply with all safety, 6S, housekeeping policies & use personal protective equipment. Ensure aircraft interior is protected (PTP). Assist in the development & implementation of related initiatives. .
  5. Perform repairs on installations that require a high degree of accuracy & timeliness. .
  6. Assist in training subordinates in proper techniques, processes & procedures. .
Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements:
  1. Thorough knowledge of repair station procedures and specifications, safety, tooling, & quality requirements.
  2. Must have an established track record of troubleshooting manufacturing or installation processes.
  3. Proficient knowledge of all applicable machinery & processes necessary to perform the job.
  4. Must have basic computer knowledge and skills.
  5. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
