Munson Healthcare's Women's Health Service Line is seeking to add casual OB/GYN physicians to provide call coverage at the following Munson Hospitals: Gaylord, Grayling, Charlevoix and Cadillac, Michigan. This unique opportunity offers flexibility for those looking for per diem or ancillary work. The physician who provides OB/GYN hospital call coverage will be reimbursed for food, travel, and all lodging expenses.

Ready to make a difference? Position highlights and responsibilities include:

  • Minimum of 3, 24-hour call shifts per month
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Lodging and food reimbursement
  • Credentialed at all sites
  • Opportunity to work with a collaborative team of physicians and Certified Nurse Midwives

Duties

  • Triage or OB ED services
  • IP rounding on assigned and unassigned OB and GYN patients
  • GYN consultations for hospitalized patients and the main ED
  • Surgically assist for other OBs or gynecologists
  • Coverage will generally be unrestricted depending on the hospital set-up and availability of call rooms.
  • Provide call coverage and L&D support interpretation of EFM strips
  • Stand-by for deliveries
  • Perform amniotomies & sonograms
  • IUPC/FSE placement
  • Monitoring of laboring patients for private OBs

Qualifications
  • MD or DO
  • Successful completion of an approved U.S. Residency training program approved by the Accrediting Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) of the American Medical Association, or the American Osteopathic Association or its equivalent.

Certification, Licensure, Registration

  • Board eligible/certified for OB/GYN practice in the State of Michigan
  • NRP, BLS, EFM certified

Other Qualifications

  • Candidate must apply for and be granted applicable clinical privileges through MHC's credentialing processes before rendering services.
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to make quality, independent medical decisions.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
