Software Test Engineer and ECU Coordinator
Client Description
On-site in San Diego, CA Our client is seeking a Software Test Engineer and ECU Coordinator to support an agile DoD software project at a Navy base in San Diego. The role will execute manual and automated testing across UI and backend components, author test documentation, manage regression testing, and collaborate with engineers and developers to validate requirements and quality gates. The position will also oversee on-site ECU inventory, storage, and maintenance, including coordination of radios and cryptographic devices. The work requires an active Secret clearance and experience with COMSEC practices. Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with an active Secret clearance. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance. Rate: $50.00 to $60.00/hr. w2 Responsibilities
Author and execute manual and automated test cases to validate product requirements for UI and backend components. Develop, maintain, and improve tools, techniques, and practices for product testing.
Participate in agile planning, analysis, design reviews, and team ceremonies.
Verify quality checks and acceptance criteria and track coverage.
Report defects and test results completely and on schedule.
Write required testing deliverables and project documentation.
Implement and manage regression testing for software releases.
Oversee on-site ECU storage, inventory, and maintenance.
Coordinate handling of radios, cryptographic devices, and fill devices in alignment with COMSEC practices. Experience Requirements
Active Secret DoD security clearance and United States citizenship.
5 to 7 years of software testing experience. Experience may substitute for degree.
DoD 8570 Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of start.
Experience with manual and automated testing, including test case design and execution.
Hands-on experience with automated test tools on software projects.
Experience implementing and maintaining regression test suites.
Knowledge of radios, cryptographic or fill devices, with prior COMSEC experience. Prior military experience handling hand-held SKLs is beneficial. Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
Active Secret DoD security clearance.
