Job Overview

The Site Manager is responsible for leading a talented team of employees and creating productive and efficient mining facilities. In addition, the Site Manager is responsible for driving a culture of professionalism, operational excellence, and creating a place where people love to work and build a career.

The ideal candidate for this role should possess good communication skills, excellent organizational skills, broad knowledge of business functions, and project management experience. The outstanding Site Manager must understand the technical aspects of cryptocurrency mining, support day-to-day business operations, ensure efficient operation of facilities, mitigate risk, and ensure that mining operations meet the needs of clients.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and manage all aspects of the cryptocurrency mining site
  • Lead the site mining operations team, a 24x7 operation, to achieve operational excellence and SLA compliance.
  • Hire, onboard, develop and manage a talented Site Operations team. Provide coaching and feedback to all team members to help them achieve their professional responsibilities and goals.
  • Oversee asset Lifecycle Management from arrival to Data Center to RMA retirement.
  • Supervise on-site contractors, vendors, and service providers, and coordinate with the utility on power supply and site infrastructure matters.
  • Manage operations within the allocated budget, making informed decisions to optimize resource allocation and meet operational goals, including monitoring power consumption and energy costs and executing load curtailment in coordination with the utility and operations leadership.
  • Oversee Safety Training to continuously educate & evolve the team, ensuring employees follow safety rules and procedures.
  • Develop goal setting for the performance and evolution of the Data Center.
  • Support the Development and Maintenance of SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) & EOP's (Emergency Operation Procedures).
  • Define, maintain, and enforce performance metrics in all facets of the Data Center, including fleet uptime, hashrate, and operational efficiency targets.
  • Ensure timely and accurate repairs of equipment, including miners, PDUs, network systems, and cooling infrastructure.
  • Ensure employees are trained and understand how to complete the jobs they are performing.

ABOUT YOU:

Minimum Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven experience in leading and optimizing cryptocurrency mining operations, preferably in a large-scale facility.
  • Strong knowledge of various crypto mining hardware, mining software and related technologies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to hire, engage and lead a technical team.
  • Understanding of data analysis and its application to optimize mining operations.
  • Strong proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware issues.
  • Good understanding of Network, Electrical, Mechanical, and building systems.
  • Proficient with Web-Based Programs, Excel, and Word Processing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to change.
  • Understanding of relevant regulatory and safety requirements, including OSHA, electrical safety, and PPE standards.
  • Strong work ethic that sets a positive example for the team.
  • Ability to effectively partner with key stakeholders and team members
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

ENVIRONMENT:

This job is performed on-site in an active cryptocurrency mining data center. The environment is industrial and high-density, with sustained high noise levels from mining equipment and cooling fans (hearing protection required), elevated ambient temperatures and significant heat output, high-voltage electrical systems, and continuous airflow from cooling infrastructure. The site operates 24x7; the Site Manager works a single regular shift but must be available for on-call response and after-hours escalations as operational needs require. The role requires the ability to work for extended periods in this environment while wearing required personal protective equipment, and to walk, reach, climb, stoop, and lift (up to 75 pounds).
