Job Summary:
The Manager, Technology leads the delivery, support, and ongoing improvement of technology systems, network infrastructure, broadcast systems, and event technology services across the L.A. LIVE campus. This hands-on leadership role is central to live event operations, ensuring technology systems are reliable, scalable, and aligned with business and event needs. The Manager, Technology with be working closely with clients, vendors, and internal technology teams while maintaining high service standards and continuously enhance the overall technology environment. The incumbent will also partner with the broader AEG Global Technology team on projects and initiatives to modernize and strengthen technology capabilities. Additionally, the role provides on-site support for events across multiple venues, including line management of part-time event technology staff, flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.
Essential Functions:
  • Lead day-to-day Technology operations by assigning and scheduling work, maintaining team efficiency, and ensuring service delivery meets established SLAs.
  • Line manage, mentor, train, schedule, and oversee full-time and part-time event technology staff to promote high service standards, technical consistency, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner across departments, business functions, and technical teams to align technology services with operational and business needs.
  • Provide hands-on support and administration for core Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, Windows 11, and Office 365, while delivering end-user support across the campus.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and support IT, network, and technology systems in coordination with the VP, Technology to ensure reliable day-to-day operations.
  • Strengthen local IT Service Desk operations by driving end-to-end ticket ownership, rapid triage, and clear communication with staff throughout issue resolution.
  • Perform physical support tasks as needed, including lifting, moving, and deploying IT equipment for workstations, offices, and event-related technology setups.
  • Maintain accurate visibility of IT hardware assets, enforce configuration and security standards, and proactively manage equipment and parts needed to support ongoing operations.
  • Manage and configure network and telecoms infrastructure to support both office operations and live event environments.
  • Work closely with the AEG Global Technology Network Team to plan network layouts and integrate new routers, switches, firewalls, and related hardware in support of business growth and infrastructure modernization.
  • Provide on-site IT, network, and cabling support for campus events, ensuring reliable connectivity through installation, testing, troubleshooting, and rapid issue resolution.
  • Coordinate resources and develop accurate technical requirements based on client needs to support successful service delivery and event execution.
  • Manage after-hours Technology support requests, diagnose core issues, and escalate critical incidents to specialized engineering teams when needed.
  • Collaborate with AEG Global Technology teams on special projects, operational initiatives, and technical assignments that strengthen overall technology capabilities.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned by senior leadership.

Required Qualifications:
  • AA/AS Degree (2-year) (BA/BS Degree Preferred) in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Network or related field.
  • Must have 4 -6 years of experience in IT, networking, technical event management, and supervising or line managing part-time event staff.
  • Must have 4 -6 years of experience with the following technologies: Cisco network hardware and software, Cisco Unified Communications hardware and software, SIP trunking, UCCaaS, ServiceNow.
  • Must have 4 -6 years of experience in project participation (including mid-to-large scale projects) and managing multiple projects at one time.
  • Must have 4 -6 years of experience with billing processes preferred, including understanding components and services on the invoices.
  • Must have 4 -6 years of experience and full fluency in the following hardware/software: Telecommunications concepts, Industry trends -SIP, VoIP, Incident and Problem Management via ServiceNow, TEM, Network support.
  • Represent the team with professionalism, strong written and verbal communication, and a customer-focused approach that supports a high standard of service.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and communicate confidently at all levels of the organization.
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative member of a broader technology team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing requests, coordinate multiple activities, and manage projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable technology services.
  • Strong working knowledge of network infrastructure, including the ability to configure, troubleshoot, and support items such as port settings and VLAN changes.
  • Able to rack, stack, move, and lift IT and telecommunications equipment weighing up to 50 pounds as part of on-site operational support.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling standards and hands-on cabling practices, including 110 punch-down blocks and terminating RJ45 connectors to T-568B standards.
  • Able to respond to Service Desk and operational support needs outside standard business hours when required.
  • Must be able to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support venues and live events.
  • Willing and able to travel domestically.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and have flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting Apple devices, including iPhones and MacBooks.
  • Preferred: Experience configuring and supporting Cisco VoIP telephony systems.
  • Preferred: Prior experience in media, live events, hospitality, or similarly fast-paced operational environments.

Pay scale: $124,063 - $158,090
Bonus: This position is eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
