JOB DESCRIPTION:

Role Overview
We are seeking a Crypto Financial Crime Data & Functional SME to lead a strategic Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) transformation initiative for a global investment bank. The role will be responsible for defining and implementing the firm's crypto financial crime operating model, data architecture, transaction monitoring framework, sanctions controls, and blockchain intelligence integration strategy.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise across Crypto AML, Blockchain Analytics, Sanctions Screening, Transaction Monitoring, Financial Crime Data Models, and Counterparty Intelligence, and will be capable of engaging directly with senior stakeholders across Compliance, Financial Crime, Operations, Data, and Technology functions.
Key Responsibilities
Crypto Financial Crime Strategy & Operating Model
Define target operating models for Crypto AML, Sanctions, Investigations, and Regulatory Reporting.
Advise senior stakeholders on crypto financial crime risks, controls, governance, and industry best practices.
Design operating workflows covering alert generation, triage, investigations, escalation, and case management.
Develop implementation roadmaps for enterprise crypto compliance programs.
Transaction Monitoring & Sanctions
Design and optimize crypto transaction monitoring frameworks and detection scenarios.
Define controls covering:
Wallet screening
Sanctions exposure
Mixer/Tumbler activity
High-risk jurisdictions
Layering and obfuscation patterns
Rapid movement of digital assets
Wallet hopping and network relationships
Establish integration between crypto monitoring and traditional fiat AML controls.
Blockchain Intelligence & Data Strategy
Lead design of blockchain intelligence and analytics solutions using platforms such as:
TRM Labs
Chainalysis
Define wallet attribution, entity resolution, clustering, and counterparty identification approaches.
Design crypto financial crime data models and data governance frameworks.
Establish crypto risk intelligence and counterparty intelligence capabilities leveraging graph analytics and network analysis.
Data & Architecture Leadership
Define end-to-end data flows across:
Blockchain data
Customer/KYC data
Screening platforms
Transaction monitoring systems
Case management platforms
Design integration architecture between cloud-native crypto solutions and existing on-premise financial crime ecosystems.
Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to define scalable implementation architectures.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Lead workshops with business, compliance, operations, and technology stakeholders.
Serve as trusted advisor to senior financial crime and compliance executives.
Drive requirements definition, solution design, vendor evaluation, and implementation strategy.
Required Experience
10+ years of experience in Financial Crime Compliance, AML, KYC, Sanctions, or Transaction Monitoring.
3+ years of hands-on experience in Crypto AML / Blockchain Risk Management.
Deep understanding of crypto compliance controls within global banking environments.
Experience working with at least one major blockchain intelligence platform:

Strong knowledge of:
Crypto transaction lifecycle
Wallet risk assessment
