What does a crypto financial analyst do?

A Crypto Financial Analyst is a finance professional who specializes in analyzing cryptocurrencies, blockchain projects, and related digital assets. They research market trends, evaluate the value and potential of various crypto assets, and provide investment recommendations or risk assessments. Their work often includes monitoring news, regulatory developments, and on-chain data to guide clients or firms in making informed decisions about crypto investments. Crypto Financial Analysts may also create reports, forecasts, and models to help stakeholders understand the evolving digital asset landscape.

What are some of the unique challenges crypto financial analysts face compared to traditional financial analysts?

Crypto Financial Analysts often navigate a rapidly evolving and highly volatile market environment. Unlike traditional finance, they must stay updated on emerging blockchain technologies, regulatory changes, and market sentiment, which can shift quickly due to global news or technological developments. Analysts also handle a wider range of data sources, including on-chain analytics and decentralized exchange activities, requiring proficiency with specialized analytical tools. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, such as developers and compliance specialists, is common to ensure comprehensive market insights and risk assessments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a crypto financial analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Crypto Financial Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial markets, and expertise in blockchain technology, often supported by a degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Familiarity with data analysis tools, blockchain explorers, cryptocurrency trading platforms, and relevant certifications such as CFA or blockchain-specific credentials is highly beneficial. Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and adaptability are crucial soft skills, as is the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly. These skills enable accurate market analysis, risk assessment, and sound investment decisions in the rapidly evolving crypto landscape.

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Owner based in Belgium.

As a Product Owner, you will turn high-level product strategy into clearly defined initiatives and measurable results. You'll own the journey from product goals to execution, ensuring teams understand what needs to be built, why it matters, and how success will be measured. Working in a fully remote, international, and agile environment, you'll collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, Legal and Compliance, Marketing, and Project teams. You'll balance user needs, business priorities, data, and regulatory considerations to make informed product decisions. The role offers significant ownership and the opportunity to shape products at the intersection of fintech, payments, and digital assets. Your work will directly influence product delivery, customer experience, and business growth.

Accountabilities
  • Translate high-level product strategy and roadmaps into well-defined epics, requirements, initiatives, and actionable deliverables for product and engineering teams.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the context behind each initiative, including business objectives, user needs, market dynamics, and regulatory constraints.
  • Own and continuously prioritize the product backlog, challenging scope and removing low-value work to keep teams focused on the initiatives with the greatest impact.
  • Drive execution from planning through delivery by monitoring timelines, identifying risks and blockers early, and ensuring commitments are delivered on time and to the expected standard.
  • Conduct business and product analysis by examining data, user journeys, edge cases, and product requirements to identify opportunities and solve problems effectively.
  • Write clear requirements, user flows, acceptance criteria, and other documentation needed to translate product objectives into shippable solutions.
  • Validate delivered features and solutions to ensure they address the original problem and generate the intended user and business outcomes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Design, Legal and Compliance, Marketing, and Project teams to maintain alignment around goals, scope, priorities, and delivery.
  • Serve as the central point of reference for product scope, priorities, status, trade-offs, and key decisions.
  • Provide executives and other stakeholders with clear, structured updates on progress, risks, decisions, and delivery outcomes.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of professional product experience in a Product Owner or Product Manager role, ideally within fintech, crypto, payments, or a closely related environment.
  • Strong practical understanding of crypto products and infrastructure, including wallets, on/off-ramps, crypto cards, and trading; this domain knowledge is essential for the role.
  • Strong business analysis capabilities, including requirements gathering, user-flow analysis, product discovery, and data-informed decision-making.
  • Familiarity with SQL or business intelligence tools is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively across Engineering, Design, Compliance, and business functions.
  • Strong execution and organizational skills, with the ability to transform broad or ambiguous objectives into clear, measurable, and deliverable plans.
  • Excellent prioritization skills and the confidence to challenge scope and make decisions based on business and user impact.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and an understanding of product edge cases and dependencies.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to create clear requirements and communicate confidently with diverse stakeholders.
  • A high level of ownership, accountability, adaptability, and willingness to learn in a fast-moving product environment.
Benefits
  • Fully remote work within an agile, international team.
  • Competitive salary based on individual experience and performance.
  • Opportunities for career progression and ongoing professional development.
  • A high-ownership culture that values transparency, open communication, and measurable impact.
  • The opportunity to work on mission-critical fintech and digital-asset products where security, transparency, and technical excellence are fundamental.
  • Exposure to complex challenges at the intersection of payments, crypto infrastructure, compliance, and emerging financial technologies.
