Job Summary:
Akuna Capital is an innovative trading firm specializing in options market-making and committed to cutting-edge technology and data-driven solutions. They are seeking a Software Engineer - Python to join their Crypto team, responsible for building and maintaining the core infrastructure for 24/7 crypto trading operations, including developing reliable real-time systems and collaborating with traders and engineers.
Responsibilities:
• Developing and maintaining reliable, highly available, real-time systems that integrate with crypto exchanges, normalize market data, reconcile positions and risk, and support trader-facing applications used in production every day.
• Collaborate closely with traders and other engineers to understand the evolving needs of the desk, help shape operational workflows, and advise on the design and implementation of scalable engineering solutions.
• Work on data pipelines: Real-time trade, position, and asset processing.
• Work on risk & finance: P&L reconciliation and real-time risk calculations.
• Work on asset management: Transfer optimization and automated inventory management across exchanges.
• Work on tooling: Trader-facing monitoring, alerting, and visualization tools.
Qualifications:
Required:
• University degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong, production-level Python development skills (familiarity with C++ also a plus)
• Experience building distributed, real-time, or event-driven applications using technologies such as Kafka, Docker, and Linux-based infrastructure.
• Experience working with trading systems, especially within the Crypto ecosystem
• Ability to work pragmatically in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly based on rapidly changing market conditions.
• The ability to react quickly and accurately to rapidly changing market conditions, including the ability to quickly and accurately respond and/or solve math and coding problems are essential functions of the role
