Responsibilities vary but often include operating specialized equipment, ensuring safety protocols, and maintaining cryogenic systems.

What does a cryo do?

As a Cryo technician or specialist, your daily tasks often include monitoring and refilling cryogenic storage tanks, maintaining precise temperature records, and ensuring all samples are safely and accurately logged. You may be responsible for troubleshooting equipment issues, adhering to stringent safety guidelines, and collaborating with researchers, laboratory staff, or medical professionals to coordinate sample transfers. Often, you'll also conduct regular maintenance and inspections of storage systems to avoid contamination or equipment failures.
