Job description

Holy Names Academy is an all-girls Catholic high school founded in 1880 by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. The school offers excellent academic, arts, athletic, spiritual, and leadership programs that promote the developmentย of the whole person in an environment of inclusion, collaboration, and community. Holy Names Academy is located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. HNA sports teams practice at various sites around the city.ย 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge, dedication, experience, and ability to teach running skills and conditioning programs.
  • Supervision and instruction of cross countryย athletes during all team activities.ย 
  • Effective communication with student athletes and their families.ย ย 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with coaches in the HNA cross country program.ย 
  • Take direction from the Program Head and Athletic Director as needed.ย 
  • Seeking continuing education opportunities in your sport (clinics, attending college practices, working camps, etc.).ย 
  • Maintain compliance with all Holy Names Academy, Metro League, and Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) rules and regulations.ย 

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Experience and expertise in the sport.
  • Prior coaching experience at the high school, youth, or club level.
  • 25ย years of age or older.
  • Possess a valid Washington State Driver's License.
  • Available for all practice sessions (Monday - Friday - 3-5pm) and meets (dates vary)
  • Current First Aid and CPR andย certifications (or be willing to obtain certification prior to season).
  • Must be willing and able to drive a 14-passenger minibus (training provided).
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, fingerprintsย and Safe Environment training prior to start of season.ย 

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $3000 - 3500, paid over the season. Salary is based on skills and experience.ย 
  • Benefits: Paid Sick Days, Funds available for professional development opportunities.ย
