Job description

SALARY RANGE: $50K - $70K   

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Under the direction of the Risk Management Manager, be a part of the Crop Insurance team, to promote the sales of Federal Crop Insurance, Crop Hail and expand sales to patrons.  This is a sales position that requires maintaining specific insurance licensing as a Crop Insurance Specialist, through Country Financial.  Primary responsibility is to make sales to current/existing customers and to new customers.  Responsible for sales of all insurance products.  Ability to work extended hours when needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Have the ability to write Federal Crop Insurance and successfully complete sales closings through Country Financials as a Crop Insurance Specialist
  • Generate sales leads and makes sales calls on current customers, prospects, and target market accounts to sell Federal Crop Insurance.
  • Develops and implements marketing programs for Crop Insurance portfolio.
  • Develops a knowledge base of all products & services we have to offer
  • Communicate changes in Federal Crop Insurance to customers and to provide basic training of these changes to our agronomy sales team
  • Manages customer crops insurance claims and works directly with Country claims adjusters to insure customer satisfaction
  • Manages various insurance reporting deadlines and works with departments administrators to insure accuracy and completion
  • Responsible for maintaining assigned vehicle according to company standards.
  • Wears required company uniform and maintains a clean professional appearance.
  • Attends all required meetings and training programs.
  • Ability to travel independently and overnight as needed.
  • Successfully adhere to safety rules and company policies and procedures.  EHS, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures must be adhered to at all times.
  • All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a college degree in agriculture, marketing, or other business and/or at least 5 years sales/marketing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must successfully complete and maintain State of Illinois Property and Causality Insurance License (P & C License).  Must successfully complete and maintain Federal Crop Insurance Certifications from Country Financial.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
